If you saw what we were talking about. Both are examples of the person shot reaching for pockets when told not to and then shot.

No the cop saw a black guy and because of that wanted him to drop his gun.

You mind readers need to show me how to do this.

All the way from the west coast you can know what the cop was thinking. That's impressive as fuck.

Since Maris61 has posted two links to the Fox story, here is the one from CNN. It also says that in the police report the policeman said for Roberson to drop the weapon multiple times. However, it also says this:

""We all yelled. 'He's a security. He's a security,' and without ... giving any thought, they shot him," Harris told the station. "The vest said security as well ... and they shot him in the side."

    https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/13/us/security-officer-police-shooting-suburban-chicago/index.html

It is possible that neither Roberson or the cop heard each other or had time to respond to what was being said. Regardless, an innocent person was shot.

I would say this highlights why arming teachers with guns to combat school shootings would have unintended consequences. How are the police supposed to know who is the gunman? Is the teacher going to hear and react in time if a policeman asks them to drop their weapon?

So...if a cop shoots an innocent person, but it is because of panic or incompetence rather than race, that's OK?

That does seem to be the argument some righties are making - all many of them want to talk about is the racial angle, and ignore if the shooting was actually justified.

Where to begin destroying this delusional post.

Nobody says it is OK that an innocent guy was killed.

The left is the side that is CERTAIN this cop is a racist and that's why anyone on the right is even talking about it.

Nobody knows what happened and the LEFT is rushing to judgement.

We're supposed to decide if it was justified without any of us seeing any video...and even if we do we can't ask the dead security guard what he heard.

IMO, they should be wearing the cameras at all times with clear video and audio.

Too lazy to search if they have them. They need gun cameras if they don't.

Turns on when gun leaves the holster.

You didn't say it in those words, but to immediately come up with reasons to give the cop an out achieves the same outcome.

You do this a lot man.

Dude, nobody is saying it’s okay. Go do that job. I would love for you to be put in that position and see what you do. All you know is a shooting is going on, this is what you’re responding to. You see a guy with a gun when you pull up.

This whole thread is a racial angle. Look at the damn title. Basically saying because he was black, he was killed. I’m saying hey you’re probably wrong, I have seen this exact situation played out with other races. Never said it was okay but understand where the police come from.

By the way, I’m not a”righty”. I’m just looking at shit objectively since most of this OT section is logically inconsistent

I know that whole "innocent until proven guilty" garbage.

What I do KNOW is that none of us were there. What I also KNOW is that I haven't seen any evidence presented that the cop is a racist. Not even a facebook post or interview with an ex girlfriend.....nothing.

Shot a black guy by mistake? Racist!

No I didn't. I have no idea what happened or what he was thinking. That's for investigators on the scene.

The shootings are probably not justifiable in all events. But you do know, every city in the US is run by Democrats.
Has been for many years now. Why do you libs do this then bitch about what you get???

Black people aren't afforded this. The man who was shot WHILE PREVENTING a mass shooting wasn't afforded this either.

    Not my fault.

It is still my nature to give everyone the same treatment and to be skeptical of everything.

My wife gets mad when she says something like "the tomato sauce wasn't down that aisle" when we're at the grocery store and I still go look.

Plenty of times she is wrong. She wants me to just trust her. Unfortunately for her, I don't KNOW the tomato sauce isn't there because she said so.
