Suggs leads top-ranked Gonzaga or No. 3 Iowa 99-88

In early December, Gonzaga paused all activities because of the coronavirus. The top-ranked Bulldogs had five games canceled due to the shutdown, and hadn’t played a game since Dec. 2 before Saturday’s showdown with No. 3 Iowa.

Despite the layoff, Gonzaga showed little rust in a 99-88 victory over the Hawkeyes. That seemed especially true for freshman Jalen Suggs who scored 18 of his career-high 27 points in the first half to lead the Bulldogs.

Kispert leads No. 1 Gonzaga over Northwestern St. 95-57

Corey Kispert of top-ranked Gonzaga was in the zone early in the game against Northwestern State of Louisiana, and his shooting kept the Bulldogs ahead.

"My first couple of shots went down and I was able to be dialed in the rest of the game," said Kispert, who scored 27 points as Gonzaga beat Northwestern State 95-57 on Monday night in the Bulldogs' home opener.

No. 1 Gonzaga rolls over most recent champ Virginia, 98-75

Corey Kispert and No. 1 Gonzaga didn't get their 1-2 matchup on a neutral court with a national TV audience.

What amounted to the replacement against the most recent NCAA champion worked out just fine.

Kispert scored a career-high 32 points and tied a school record with nine 3-pointers, leading the Zags to a 98-75 romp over 16th-ranked Virginia on Saturday.

Kispert leads No. 1 Gonzaga past San Francisco 85-62

op-ranked Gonzaga has the most potent offense in the country, but coach Mark Few thinks the Bulldogs can be really good on defense, too.

Corey Kispert scored 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting and Gonzaga shut down hot-shooting San Francisco in the second half to win 85-62 on Saturday.

Kispert's 23 points lead No. 1 Gonzaga past rival BYU 86-69

Jalen Suggs put up plenty of impressive numbers for No. 1 Gonzaga against BYU, but after the game, his coach and teammates wanted to talk about something that doesn't always show up on the stat sheet — his passing.

Suggs had 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, four steals and a blocked shot as the Zags beat BYU 86-69 on Thursday.

No. 1 Gonzaga beats Pepperdine 95-70, runs win streak to 17

Top-ranked Gonzaga has been jumping on opponents early this season, leading by an average of more than 20 points at halftime in home games. That didn't happen against Pepperdine, as the Zags led by just four points at the break.

Corey Kispert had 23 points and eight rebounds as undefeated Gonzaga stormed back in the second half to beat Pepperdine 95-70 on Thursday for its 17th consecutive victory over the last two seasons.

No. 1 Gonzaga overcomes slow start, beats Saint Mary’s 73-59

McKeon Pavilion is typically one of Gonzaga’s toughest conference road stops, so it certainly felt strange devoid of all those raucous fans.

Corey Kispert had 17 points and five rebounds and No. 1 Gonzaga overcame a slow start with a surge to end the first half, pulling away late to beat rival Saint Mary’s 73-59 on Saturday night for its 18th straight victory spanning the past two seasons.

Timme scores 22, leads No. 1 Gonzaga over Pacific 95-49

Top-ranked Gonzaga struggled a bit in beating two of the best teams in the West Coast Conference last week, so coach Mark Few pushed his squad to step up its defense.

The undefeated Zags did just that.

Drew Timme scored 22 points and freshman Jalen Suggs came close to a triple-double as Gonzaga smothered Pacific 95-49 on Saturday night for its 19th consecutive victory dating to last season.
