It all was based on LMA though. Do you really want to spend top dollar on Rolo with LMA gone?
Do you really want to pay 15 mil a year on Wes coming off his injury?
Do you really want to gamble on Nic staying next summer?
    Afflalo?

Based on that it makes sense to gut the team. Who from that group did you want to keep?

I totally agree with what we're doing. Still not the the greatest feeling in the world to lose out a window before it even started!

Very true. It just goes to show how things can change. Look at Indiana. People were singing praises to Bird and his team for building such a great young team. Now they have to start over like us.

They still have their core intact though. And their best player isn't clamoring to leave the first chance he gets. PG actually has really embraced the culture and community in Indy the same way Dame has embraced POR.

That is one thing we can embrace. Dame has committed here and seems to have much more of a vibe with the fans than LaMarcus ever did.

OHHHH just wait till this contract is up.. They sing the loyalty praise when we can easily match the contract. Judge them when the decision is solely theirs

Their core when they had the best record in the NBA included Hibbert, West, and Stevenson and PG.
Hibbert will be gone and only PG will be left. Their core will be new.

If Hibbert leaves, his girlfriend leaves, yeah? That might affect George's decisions.

I think Olshey had a plan. It is different than most, but it is a plan.

Most, like Rich Cho, would have blown it up. Paul Allen did not want to do that and chose to take a shot with the players we had. Olshey wisely did not mortgage our future too bad. The 2013-14 season was pretty exciting. 2014-15 got sidetracked with injuries. LA probably did not want the constant media scrutinity that would have came with others that were in the same position preceding free agency. To Olshey's credit, he kept the media from making this off season a story every day.

Did they lie? Maybe. I cannot fault either one. I am usually pretty honest but know there are times when it is just plain easier to do.

If LA was going to stay here like we were lead to believe, he should have gone the Gasol route so that we could build knowing that we had him. If his intentions truly were to test the market, LA put Olshey in the spot where he had to plan for two entirely different scenarios.

I find it hard to believe the 'Plan' was to let 8 FA's go for nothing and only get Aminu out of it. So that means the 'Plan' was not accomplished and we are now on some contingency that is going to have to be sold to season ticket holders who likely are shelling out big bucks for 15-18 wins at home and a handful of road wins.

Yesterday a good amount of people were in the denial stage thinking LMA would be back and we had a shot at Monroe. Today, put me in the anger stage. By the time this team is ready to contend again, Dame's deal will be up and he'll probably want to leave because he's tired of losing, and we'll blow up the team to start rebuilding again. Hooray.

We will not be bottom feeders next year, we have too much talent to only win ~25 games... Besides is FA over? Is our roster filled? We can really discuss in depth what our direction will be after the players sign on the dotted line.

Nothing has yet been signed or even verbally agreed to. Don't you find it fishy that none of Lopez, Matthews or Aldridge has announced anything yet?

Neil has said all along that he has contingencies for all situations including LMA leaving. He still has cap space.

Yes....cap space for what? B-level Free Agents or unbalanced trades from non-contenders. Color me 'not holding my breath'.

No way we get a difference maker outside of the draft.

Develop our youngsters and hopefully only tank for one year. Gather as many assets as we can with 2016-17 in mind. Pray the lottery gods have mercy.
