She's the best female pure sketch comedian they've had since Gilda Radner in my view...she's got great comedic timing
I know for a fact that it is bullshit. Yes, I'm a direct witness. He's gonna have to eat crow over this one..
For those who think the Senator was too snarky at LGBTQ event, all due respect, you are not gay. You have never had someone who doesn't know you from a hole in the wall say your 10, 20, 30 year relationship is invalid. Maybe a politician married three times who bragged about extramarital affairs and sexually transmitted diseases. Or a pundit who has had four wives but no children and who pretends not to know how birth control works so he can slut-shame a birth control activist. Or an anorexic hate spewer who says marriage equality offends her as a Christian, while she has had a series of affairs with married men. Or a town clerk on her fourth marriage hailed as a Christian martyr for breaking the law. You have never had a man tell you his dick would turn you straight. Personally I think she was too nice.
A little comedy would indeed be better than the current tragedy, but I'm not sure that's the answer either. barfo
Seriously, I'm not quite certain how comedy would equate to politics in these globally volatile times. Hmmmm....we could always resurrect Chevy Chase.
And you think it wasn’t a setup question? As I understand it, it was a hypothetical question read by a questioner from the LGBQT community. I mean, more power to her for making her point with a memorable line, even if it was a setup, but I don’t think she’s ever going to do standup.
But heres the thing eventually when we decide we want hate and bigotry of all flavors to stop it means we all have to stop it. Maybe that time hasnt come yet as I know there are still issues but eventually we need to stop with the barbs and war of words, we need a president whose going to attempt to bring unity to us (maybe thats EW but snark isnt the place to start that is it?). I absolutely understand that Christians (and others), and people using religions as a shield have been horrible to homosexuals and havent afforded them the love and respect they deserve and like I said, her snark wasnt a big deal, I just commented that I did notice it. I wish that Christians would take their own book to heart and treat people well, and love them. In terms of being too nice? Can one really be too nice? Id certainly rather too nice as a president than whatever the heck we have now... Edit: I want to say also not that it matters but I am sorry to anyone in here who was bullied because of their sexuality, and that I really do understand that stuff really sucks. Its not that I want to paint or gloss over the history that religion or this country has had towards the LGBTQ group. I also understand that after what must have felt like a life long war on you, that some barbs and snark is so much less then what youve endured. So to that end those who find ourselves on the other-side need to learn to be ok with it.
Fine. Go tell people putting antigay initiatives on ballots, and firing LGBTQ people from jobs, and assaulting members of my community to be nice.
>>> I gather from reading your posts over the time you have been here, that you are a well reasoned young fellow of sound mind. I am sure you know, that our system of electing the President does provide for the electorate to select the best candidate for the position that reflects the mood and temperament of the electorate at the time. Any one person can not deem what we need. Nor is unity necessarily the goal. As you might already know, democracy has one great flaw, it does allow every fool to vote. Unity can be on this, or that side of the fool line. During my time here, unity has never been so blatantly expressed on the fools side as apposed to the choice of the states electorate. >>> I like to think most try as best they can to do as Jesus taught to correct the guidance of the Jews. >>> What we have now is very undervalued. Especially when one remembers, he is the elected President, the best of 23 available offered up for our choosing.
It was a scripted skit, performed by one of her donors, likely even practiced beforehand. She is simply not believable as a person.
