The boring results we all know are gonna happen.

It’s gonna be Golden State again barring injury. Against Boston/Philly/Toronto. Likely a sweep or gentleman’s sweep.

I mentioned this long ago....the 3 point shot has really changed the way the team game is played..also the way scoring titles are weighed...Jerry West would have a ton of points if he had the 3 pt shot..some say he'd have logged another 10K pts to his 25K he's credited with.....lotta guys would have put up bigger numbers....handchecking rules changed the way defense can be played as well.

Yeah I agree. It used to be exciting when 3 were uncommon and your team makes maybe a couple in a quarter.

Now the NBA is half a three point shooting contest and the other half everything else basketball; drives, defense, dunks, rebounding, free throws, post ups, passing, etc.

Can you provide a ref's perspective on replay, both on how it is currently and how it should be changed if at all?

It's funny. I feel like the NBA is more of skill league now that the 3 is so prevalent. I also think it has opened the offense up, creating space, as guys have to guard shooters so far from the basketball.

Sick and tired of being a Blazer fan.

I've watched or listened to nearly every game since about 2000. No matter if I was out of town for school, I found some stream of wheels on radio or illegal feeds and league pass since I started working to catch every game. I remember nearly every transaction and player movement. My emotional attachment with this team borders on scary as my moods reflect the way the team performs.

Three moments stick out to me most:

    1. Draft lottery 2007-- probably the most joy I have ever felt as a fan of the team. Draft day was amazing. I was in pioneer square welcoming GO. We all know how this turned out.
    2. BRoy leading the team to a top 4 seed in the loaded west after 5 years in the lottery. And the hope of Oden coming back next season healthy was amazing. We all know how this turned out.
    3. Dame's 0.9 shot was probably the most seminal moment in my blazer fandom. Unbelievable season, and start in 2015 only to see Wesley go down and our hopes with him.

This team gives me so much hope and enjoyment followed by unbearable bouts of disappointment and heartache. I don't know why I keep on being so invested -- maybe it's masochism. I've been away from PDX for over 12 yrs now, and my irrational fandom keeps on being questioned regularly by people around me. I have no explanation for it anymore.

The 3 pt shot has definitely boosted rebounding numbers from small guards...long rebounds that lead to transition layups...it's also trimmed down assist numbers with the lack of dishes to bigs in the paint

The reason is that if/when the Blazers ever do win another title it will feel better than all of those moments combined.

Yep. HCP knows the X's and O's of running a sheep farm.

The ones painted with a red X kick.

Well tell those Pacers fans to shut up, it's not like they win anything either.

I'll go along with this. And tired of a coach that is even less.

Did anyone mention the All Star Game? Because, yeah, it sucks anyway, and then they made it worse with the gimmicky choosing up sides thing. Voting sucks. Primadonna, entitled starters suck. No defense sucks. Slam Dunk contest blows. Skills contest is silly. Pretty much the whole thing sucks.

Oh, and BTW, NBA, forty plus years and no Portland ASG SUCKS!!!

Maybe the best part of seeing @MARIS61 and @MarAzul post in the regular, basketball forum is that I can unequivocally and 100% agree with them! :)
