I know you are being sarcastic, in good nature... But I really think we strike out. I can see a play for Stephenson, some depth, use one pick on a college player and another on a Euro stash.
I don't know what to expect, really. Last year's formula was a loser. I hope the changes coming at least make the team fun to watch.
Ultimately, a large part is how quickly Rose returns to form. If he does. Butler needs to make progress on the offensive end. I just don't think it will ever happen. There is the perpetual hope of Mirotic coming over and making an impact. I'm lukewarm on him. I see no real concrete evidence this year's team is going to be much better, barring a major trade or free agent acquisition. Unless Mirotic is Dirk and I'm just missing it. And that's if he comes over.
I think Thibs is just fantastic. He'll win with whatever he's given. I'm convinced he wants better players but he's grudgingly accepted the lot we have, "good enough." Butler is playing out of position. He is being relied upon to take 3pt shots coming off screens and triple picks and whatever else Thibs draws up for the SG. At SF, he gave us a glimpse of a pretty good and solid player. Let's hope we either find a SG so he can play SF full time or have 3 wonderful offensive players to go with Jimmy and Noah.
I dont blame you for feeling the way you do Vintage. The FO has had several chances to add stars to this team and so far none have panned out.
Draft express tweeted about 90 minutes ago that we are still trying to move up in the draft. Targets are either McDermott or Stauskas
Thanks. Good to see you and Denny again. I really don't blame the front office for not landing James or Bosh in the original decision. They gave it their best shot. Where they get blame is for non deals and hanging onto pet players. Like Deng.
James Young said (Wed) all of his workouts went well, but he specifically mentioned the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets. Young said of the Bulls and Lakers: "I was interested in them, and they're interested in me, so we'll see what happens." Bulls really like Jordan Adams. They had him in for 2 workouts and were very interested. He's an option at 16 and 19 (if they keep picks). https://twitter.com/AlexKennedyNBA/status/482155889617797120
