Like I said, I think it needs to be part of a threeway deal. We don't have enough to offer them. They need to move one of Dragic/Bledsoe/Thomas and Dragic is a free agent. He's the best option right now to move.
I would give them that. It would be hard to lose CJ though. Sometimes you need to give promise for talent though
I really wish we would have went hard after Avery Bradley this offseason. He would be awesome coming off our bench.
Okay I tweaked it. Dragic/Robinson to Detroit. Monroe/CJ/Wright to Phoenix. Green/Butler to Portland.
Jeff Green would be awesome, but I don't think they'd bite. Gerald Green is a bench player. He has value, but he's a free agent and I think a few decent young guys might be able to pry him away.
Jeff Green is gonna bounce out of Boston when he gets the chance. My guess is he wants to play on a contender in his prime not a rebuilding crapshoot. I think Barton/Robinson/Wright and a future lottery protected 1st could get it done.
Maybe. I would be all about it. Would Green be happy coming off the bench though? We know Gerald is okay with the bench. We know he's a three point shooter (which Stotts would love.) I'm completely on board with either.
Well, what would you rather have, 20-25 minutes (playing against backups, while racking up 6MOTY consideration) on a championship contender or 35-40 minutes a night on a BAD eastern team?
Some people would say option A, others would say option B. Not everyone is motivated by winning. There are other motivators such as money and prestige. I have no idea how Jeff Green feels. It's easy to assume that he wants to win, but I can't say that for sure. He's going to want a payday and he might get it. There's a real lack of wings in the league right now.
He has another year on his deal and he is making ~9mil a year, I think it would benefit his future contract status to be a stud bench player for a championship team (cough* Odom cough*) than a guy who puts up as many shots as he wants on a team going nowhere (cough* Kevin Martin cough*).
