No, I'm saying Curry's shot selection is a bit more justifiable than Dame's because he is an elite shooter while Dame is actually below league average. And even he would get reprimanded for taking a shot like Dame did if he were shooting so poorly
Huh? Do you have anything of value to add? If this is really all that silly of a thread, feel free to merge.
I'm not sure what you want. I deleted my original post, I've apologized, and tried to make sure there isn't an argument brewing between you @honkicracker over something I started. Again, I'm sorry that I originally poked fun at your thread. I fully admit I was teasing you. Is there anything else that you would like me to do or say?
lol OK. what argument. I've been posting in this community for 10 years-- think i realize how stuff works around here. sheesh.
Dame has for his entire career put up big end game numbers...tonight they came up short...Kemba Walker wore him down..the dude is one of the fastest guys in the league...right up there with Kyrie Irving...takes a lot of energy to keep him in front of you and Dame wasn't fast enough all night...he was gassed...most nights he'd put up 30 by the end of the 4th....credit Walker for having a monster effort
Look at the other 4 Blazers on the floor. Three of them are not moving (guarded) and are 25 feet from the basket. That leaves Aminu who he looks first to pass to, but then a charlotte player steps in the way. And what is Aminu going to do in 7 seconds? I prefer Dame to take a 40 foot shot then let Chief dribble in traffic or take a contested midrange jumper. That is not the guy you give the ball to in that situation when a quicker players is on him. That offensive possession had no movement.
Lillard isn't below league avg. https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/three-point-pct Shows you the last 2 years the league avg is about 35% Dame is above that at 37%. While it is certainly not a great shot if you go to nbasavant.com and look up Lillards shot from 26+ feet its 36.485% which is damn close to what his regular 3p% is.
Woulda preferred a timeout. He picked up his dribble too early and compounded the mistake. Such a crucial possession -- we needed to do better.
League average this year at 36.2% Dame is at 36.9. Not much of a difference, but not below either as i had said
Dame is our leader and best player. We are a basement team without him. Guy can take whatever fucking shots whenever and wherever he wants. I’ll live and die by him out there.
I tend to agree with this to a certain extent. He did have a few bad shot selections late in the 4th and was off tonight but I trust no other Blazer in that situation. He was open in the following clip. He makes those threes a lot. All through his career. I mean I think the guy has played consistently enough for years, I think he has earned the right to take that shot. Wasn't contested. Your only other options in that play is for CJ to iso or run a pick and roll with Nurk. These other guys can't hit shots even when open most of the time. I think this thread is a bit dramatic to be honest. That shot I actually wanted Dame to take, the one I thought was bad was the contested fade away mid range jumper.
............and Dame had 7 on the shot clock. Why not attempt that pass at the top of the key? It looked like Aminu (hard to tell) had a clear shot from an attemptable distance. Perhaps game management is not a Stotts asset and Dame thought desperation at that given moment.
You're right. 4-14 is more justifiable than 5-18. Man what was I thinking. That's fine, but at the end of the day I see nothing to argue about. He's wrong and he knows it. I'm sure if he chooses to respond he'll again change his 'argument' in an attempt to 'win' on the internet... But I have better things to do than repeat myself.
