I love all the backtracking for the fans who were calling anyone supporting Billups hire "rape apologists" and now saying "its no way its the fans". Classic fucking shitheads. Its the same outrage mob as the Jailblazers era.

Its a small segment of vocal fans who think they are more important than they are, with their outrage posse, trying to spread their bad juju around.

The twitter "fans" came in with the mentality of "its Becky Hammond or scorched earth". And they got Scorched Earth.

I don't know what "bb" means but I actually I agree with you more than you realize. Neil HAS to consider how any decision he makes affects the team especially Dame. Social media is here to stay, right or wrong. One misstep and that's it; you are gone. Should Billups get the job Dame might have to walk on eggshells, every move he makes could be under the microscope. It's BS, in some cases, but it's the world we live in.

First and foremost Neil has to think of Dame IMHO, since we all agree that he is the team's only shot at a really deep run. "How will this coach affect Damian Lillard on and off the court?" Period. That should be number one. Yes, a candidate that Dame wants is a key factor, but so is one that makes his life easier. Now because of his now infamous "I like Kidd and Billups" blurb, Dame has found himself in a tight spot. I hope Dame is not bothered by the twitter shit storm he is finding himself in. He seemed pissed when I last checked his twitter.

You can bet that plenty of PR people would tell Dame to cut his losses and say he won't play for Billups given what he knows now. I honestly don't know what he should do and wouldn't want to be in his position. Things can get ugly out there.

    Same guy who said:

    Now says:

?? So what are we to think? It sounds like Olshey HAD to hire Billups to please Dame, but... it didn't work?

Either way, sounds like he's blaming Dame, without actually saying so.

Olshey has blamed fans so I would not be surprised if he tried to blame Dame.

So don’t be real surprised if either

    A. There is a press conference Monday

    B. Tuesdays press conference isn’t about the coach

I linked to it in the exit interviews thread. I think it was 3 years ago when someone asked about the fans wanting changes or upset from being swept out of the playoffs and he offered some lame BS about how the fans were cheering when we made the playoffs so what do fans know? (That is not a direct quote. Just remember him taking a lame did at the fans.)

This sounds personal for you. A passing comment made three yrs ago turned into "Olshey blames fans?"

Sure. I just think it was an asshole statement to make. I mean it's not like we have a lot to go on. He rarely makes himself available to the local and national press with the exception of one of two softball interviews a season with Dwight Jaynes.

    Lol, what, Dame?

With all due respect. There is nothing for Dame to "commit to". He already did, by signing a 4 year supermax. And if he's going to ask out in the first year of that supermax he will literally be setting history as the first (coveted) superstar to ask out with 4 years left on his deal. He's been the "anti superteam" superstar of the past decade. If he's asks for a trade now it will be a slap in to face to everything he purports to stand for.
