There is not one post on this board that I have read this morning (in any of our threads-including the Fire Neil thread ) that I think to myself..wow is that really true?

Oh, I don't know. Which of the following will get more clicks:

    "Nothing is happening."

    or

"It's more likely than ever that (insert panic inducing bullshit)."

As the good book says: "Capitalism is the root of all evil." -- 1 Timothy 6:10

do you really need an explanation?

Olshey is busy covering his own ass thru strategic leaks, and shuffling blame to Dame

I'm beginning to wonder if Olshey secretly wants to trade Dame. He's certainly creating a situation that may make it so

Well, Stotts was the lighting rod for his entire time in Portland to shield Neil from criticism. Now Stotts is gone. Maybe Neil is thinking if Dame takes all the heat and becomes the bad guy, he can safely trade Dame and start over with a rebuild with low expectations :dunno:

To answer your first question, it doesn't. And it wasn't meant to be taken as a put-down of you.

As to your second sentence, no, it doesn't. It doesn't say Dame is likely to be traded. It says according to a Yahoo article, Dame is likelier to be traded than ever. Those are different things.

where did that tweet come from?

I mean, how many times a day does somebody here post the "Olshey runs a tight ship and nothing gets leaked he doesn't want leaked" narrative. It's ubiquitous.

so then, if that's true, then it's obviously Olshey that wanted that leak out there...right?

Ya, I don’t understand the sarcastic posts towards wizenheimer? Is this not what’s happening?

Who’s leaking this stuff and why?

Because i think its quite ridiculous that a dude from Bleacher Report was told by Neil Olshey that he was surprised he didnt want DVP. I think it is crazy that now Neil wants to drive Dame OUT of portland, by demanding a trade, that this will make Neil look GOOD and he will save his job. It sounds like bizarro world in here

The only way Neil can safely trade Dame is if he asks for a trade or Dame becomes the bad guy. That would sure seem to be the aim of a lot of these leaks.

When has Olshey leaked anything to anyone except Woj?

There are other people that could possibly know. People on the Spurs/Mavs side, people that work with people from the Spurs/Mavs or Blazers front office but are not a first hand source (like Calvin's source).

To me, it seems ridiculous that Olshey's FO would leak something to freaking Bleacher Report of all places.

Also, nothing against Wiz since I usually agree with his posts, but the Dame could give a public interview saying he never wants to leave Portland and Wiz could find a way to twist it into an negative against Olshey.

I'm sure that there are some employees who contact "media experts", and say stuff like "wow, I was surprised that Dame didn't mention Vanterpool", and it gets reported as "Blazers surprised that Dame said Kidd and not Vanterpool".

It's all about how you present shit. It's vague and purposely misleading.

I don't mind, I've got a thick skin and look good in tin foil

but...I don't really play that close attention and even I knew that Dame had a long-term relationship with Jason Kidd that started in Oakland. I don't know if Kidd was a mentor for Dame or if they were just friends. But if I knew about that relationship, certainly Olshey and the people in the Blazer front office knew. So, why that leak, right now, that they were surprised that Dame mentioned Kidd as a possible coach? Whose ass did that leak cover, and who is left exposed?

further, Kidd went thru the effort to withdraw his name from Portland candidate list. Why would he do that if the Blazer front office had never contacted him or his agent?

Seems to me that the headline of that "story" doesn't match with what the RealGM piece actually says. I know, shocking, right, given what passes for journalism these days? It says "staffers" were surprised that Dame didn't support Vanterpool, not "The Blazers", which you would assume would mean Olshey and Jody Allen. From what Dame has said on social media, Olshey gave him a list of potential candidates, which included Kidd and Billups, and asked him which ones he would support. He said out of the list that he would like Kidd and Billups. There's nothing to indicate that Vanterpool was even on the list that Dame was given. Is it surprising that there are some lower echelon voices, maybe among Stotts' assistants who are on their way out, who are surprised that Vanterpool didn't get consideration? Nope. Are "the Blazers" surprised, I doubt it.
