Yep, that's me. That's all I do on here, Nate. Typing 'brilliant' is now a personal attack. Way to deflect and get all butt-hurt over something so stupid, just because you don't have anything to say after I point out how idiotic your logic is about trading CJ.
Ive never understood the ignore function. People post shit that annoys me everyday. I see people everyday that say shit i 100% dont agree with. I dont block anyone that disagrees with me or has a different opinion out of my life. The world is.meant for people to have differing views. If everyone was the same.it would be boring as shit. All of us get butthurt sometimes. Poke the bear a little bit. Say stupid shit. And tomorrow id still have a beer with any one of you. Thats the way it should be.
I'm the exact same way. I'm toughest on those I respect/admire/love the most. Why put energy into someone you don't care about. I'm hardest on those I love. But I still love them.
Typically I type on here how I would speak to a fan at a bar watching the game, etc. So for instance, would I talk shit a little if you made a stupid statement? Maybe, but I would expect the same back. Just make sure the shit talking you/I do is legit and not just BS, otherwise you'll get shit on more. All in all, treat this place like were all together at a bar top having beers and it becomes much better.
Exactly - every year or two there's a team without a post-player that still finds themselves among the leaders for points in the paint. It's a false idea that the only way to score in the paint is through a post-player - player movement and passing can be even more effective than posting up.
No, you said "Brilliant. As usual." If you would have said "brilliant" I wouldn't have thought anything about it, but it's basically a nice way of calling me a moron. We've all said stupid shit on here. Nobody is immune from that, but saying "as usual" adds a completely different tone to the insult. There's a couple people on here that I annoy. Sorry. I don't mean to annoy you with my opinions. I guess I just have that kind of personality, but I don't attack you. I don't call you an idiot when I disagree with you. I'll debate and argue tirelessly, and I guess that rubs some people the wrong way, but i'm not going to apologize for being me.
It's honestly the type of dry, sarcastic comment I'd say to a friend in person to bust his balls. You can read whatever tone you want into my text, I can't control that.
If you didn't mean anything by it, cool. I would rather just say, "hey I thought that was over the line," rather than insult you back, or get all moddy and delete or edit something if I think it's a personal attack.
Redick is averaging 17 ppg in the playoffs. He's averaged 16.3 in the season. These first 2 games have you freaked out, which is understandable.
You get that scoring above his average is a BAD thing, right? CJ averaged nearly 21 ppg during the regular season. CJ is currently averaging 12.5 ppg during the playoffs. Redick is the same size as CJ, as has been pointed out to me, so why is Redick doing better than average, but CJ is doing significantly worse than average? Answer: CJ is a shitty defender.
Actually, I think the numbers point in the opposite direction - Reddick is essentially AT his scoring average, while CJ (and everyone else) is BELOW their average. So either (a) LAC's defense is the issue or (b) our offense is the issue. Likely it's both. Our defense (surprisingly!) isn't the major problem here, it's our offense.
Redick is getting whatever the fuck he wants. He's shooting 55.6% from the field, almost 69% shooting on twos. His regular season averages are 48% from the field, 48.4% on twos.
So Reddick went from REALLY good, to REALLY REALLY good, while Dame/CJ went from Average to Terrible (each around 33%). Again, I think offense is a bigger issue than defense. CP3 is shooting at roughly his season averages (45%, 53%). Griffin had one game at his season average, one below (50%, 33%). Crawford had one game at his season average, one game above (40%, 50%) Jordan had one at, one below (25%, 71%). The Clippers are scoring 4 point above their season average. We're scoring 17 (SEVENTEEN) points BELOW our season average. The issue is our offense.
Sure, if you're hearkening back to the original point, which is that it's not Stotts' fault that we're losing the games. But if we're specifically talking about CJ, and his defense, then Redick going from REALLY good, to REALLY REALLY good is entirely on him. We can really only hide one of our guards on defense, because Moute is the only Clipper that sucks at scoring the basketball. Dame is our chosen player to hide, so CJ is getting abused by Redick. That's really my point though, you can have one guard who sucks at defense and you can probably hide him, but you can't have two guards who suck at defense. It's almost impossible to hide both of them.
Sure, whatever. CJ isn't a great defender, but he's not horrible either. We're certainly not losing because of CJ's defense. I'm not sure what more you want from him - he's doing as well as can be expected. He's chasing JJ all over the court and isn't losing him - he's getting picked off by screens. JJ is a GREAT shooter, and he's elevated his game in the POs - that's what great players do. But he's still sitting AT his PPG average. Sure, he's doing it on higher percentages, but he's also taking two more FGA to hit the same PPG - so it's kinda a wash.
The thread isn't about CJ's defense. Not specifically. CJ's defense was just one of a handful of points, but that's the one that some people have chosen to contend, so here we are. And the point was that CJ doesn't have the length to bother Redick on defense. You're right, he's chasing him around and he's getting pick off by screens, but his size is limiting his ability to defend Redick (which was my point.)
Everyone is playing like crap, we're using loser tactics when we're down 6 points in the 3rd quarter than the Clippers go on a run to finish the game. We haven't even showed up to play and it's the fucking playoffs. How exactly is this not on the coach? We have maybe the best backcourt duo in the league but he's using them in the least efficient way possible. Frazier didn't get a minute of playing time then moved to New Orleans to have like 13 points, 7 assists per game with great %s and we're stuck with only Brian Roberts as our other guard. Aminu is stinking up the playoffs but keeps playing, his biggest adjustment was to start playing fucking Chris Kaman. This coach is a joke. We wouldn't look like that if I were coaching the team and we wouldn't look like that if we had another coach who's actualy worth a shit. Stotts never coached a winner before the Blazers and he isn't the reason we're winning. We're winning in spite of him, not because of him. If we keep losing the one bright spot would be not having him coaching us for next season. I would think this possibility of him leaving would make him do a better job but I don't really. I don't think it's up to him, he's simply incompetent
