You tore Stott's down on his moves, but never once offered up what YOU would do. So explain yourself or consider your post a waste of time. You as coach would do what differently exactly?

Man I love it when critics don't offer alternatives.....

I guess you could argue that his defensive strategy is flawed..... but then again, I'm not sure what you expect him to do with Dame and CJ on the perimeter.

In my opinion Stott's has done everything reasonable he can do without tinkering too much and potentially make a huge error in a change by being too drastic ( bring in Alexander, ETC)

I just love the hate when those who hate don't bring up alternatives to what is going on, but just go on and on about how he/they suck based off of numbers. Numbers don't mean anything in this scenario really...

Except for the fact that many people mentioned things to do differently after G1. Repeating oneself gets tiring. Also, none of us are paid to coach the Blazers - the guy who IS should be the one responsible for coming up with changes. But apparently he's already "done everything reasonable". So you hold fans accountable for not coming up with changes, but not the coach?

Ummm huh??? Yes. Of course. The coach tried new things in a reasonable fashion.

The fact remains the person I quoted, said he would do things differently but never explained what in his rant. IF he is to bash the coach so harshly, at least provide some examples of what you would do differently.

Your post makes no sense to me. Arguing a point that's not even in the discussion. Picking off the edges or something instead of tackling the meat of the post Blazer4Ever made.

People ranted that he needs to make changes. He made changes. then people rant they would do things differently. Well then list what you would do differently or you get a friendly STFU. :)

Why do I get the feeling they would be MUCH BETTER defensively if Thibs was the Head Coach. If that is the case, then there are things that can be done....it may just not be his style.

I would play Crabbe, Henderson and Harkless (all 3) every time either Dame or CJ sit. I would bench Aminu until he's able to hit a wide open shot. I would play only either Harkless or Vonleh at the 4, maybe also give Aminu a chance but only if he proves he's worth it.

Well then you'll love the video I'll post tomorrow breaking down how the philosophy Stotts has on guarding screens is killing its, and what he should do instead.

He'd start Montero and Alexander. They're the answer. Duh.

None of that is relative to the results on the floor. He's a bad coach because he's not playing those exact 3 guys together a little more often?

Benching Aminu is an obvious change, and Vonleh would play more as a result. But would that change things? Probably not.

You just suggested 2 things you'd do that would have no impact on the final result. You said nothing about scheme changes, offensive philosophies, or matchups.

And what is your foundation of thought that this would change anything?

Did we not forget that Vonleh was our starter for over half the season and though I saw progress in him,. Im also willing to admit, like many others, that he is simply not ready for the playoff type of ball. Im pretty sure Stott's feels the same or he would get more minutes.
What do you think will happen if we start Vonleh, What type of impact do you think he will have compared to what we have now?

So CJ usually comes out of the game first. When he does so, your saying we should also bench Aminu, because Harkless is already the starter, so the lineup is Dame/Crabbe/Hendo/Harkless/Plums or Davis.

What is that lineup going to do that is so different than this lineup?

Dame/Crabbe/Aminu/Harkless/Plums or Davis? You really think that this type of move is the answer? Further more, I'm willing to bet that both lineups have been utilized with little success already.

Your only as good of a craftsman as the tools you have on hand. Same principle applies to coaching. Stotts doesn't have a dependable big that is a two way player. This is what we are missing. a two way big.
Coach doesn't have that any no amount of lineup changes is going to solve this....

Aminu is not hitting anything, Harkless at least brings more energy, attacks the rim more, Vonleh at least has good size, he sets picks, plays solid defense, allows us to not always play small-ball.
When we play just one of CJ/Dame I think we need all 3 swingmen (Crabbe, Henderson, Harkless) to be on the floor, for the offense to not stagnate

Especially when Reddick grabs on to his own teammate to pull himself around the screen. I noticed him doing that last night at the game. He pretty much slingshots himself around those picks.

    Not really.

Not one person I can recall was predicting that Plums was going to have a break-out series. Even at that he is a work in progress. The rest of our big men WERE out-matched.
