Also, I have been a Blazers fan since birth. I couldn't tell you how many Hall of Fame coaches they have had. I assume Jack and maybe Adelman, but probably only Jack.
Not sure that's a fair question. Mike McCormack only coached the Seahawks for 1 year. Chuck Knox is the most notable coach in Seahawk history (besides Holmgren and Carroll).
Well I just looked and its Jack and Lenny Wilkins, so there you go. Oh no I might be a Blazers bandwagon fan even though I have only followed them for like 36 years!
I honestly didn't even give a shit about the Seahawks until they moved them to the NFC and they started picking Seattle games over Niner ones. I watched the Niners growing up because that's what was on TV. Similarly, I liked watching the Braves because that's what was on TV. Back before the internet and league pass and all that shit. You watched what you could watch. But I was raised to hate Seattle teams and that's what I do. Portland and Seattle have had a rivalry for a very long time. If the Pats left New England do you think Boston fans would suddenly start rooting for the Giants or the Jets?
However, that gets me thinking. If we were to win, it will be really weird to see a bunch of new Blazers fans. It's kind of a nauseating thought, honestly. Hmm....
When Sheed was a baller for us, people seemed to think that there was a insurgence of Blazer bandwagon fans. I don't know if that's really all that true. It was just much easier to show your Blazer pride when the team was successful. There will be bandwagon fans, but that's okay. It's a fact of life.
Long term fandom makes the moment when you are king of the mountain, much more rewarding. If the Blazers won the championship... imagine what that would feel like.
I balled when the Seahawks won. It was a massive relief. I also balled the following year when we lost (how we lost). If the Blazers won, it would be more than both of those combined. Blazers always #1, and we've been waiting FOREVER.
I went to the Packers/Seahawks NFC Champ Game with my dad. I felt emotional just being there. When Paul Allen came on the screen at the beginning of the game during the raising of the 12th flag, I just became overwhelmed with emotion and tears just started coming out of my eyes. Honestly it was one of the best sports moments I have ever had in my entire life. I remember when things looked their bleakest in that game and I told the guy sitting next to me, well, there's still a chance. And he's like how???? And I said well they could go down the field score, get an onside kick and then score again. He said you are crazy, it's over! And it freakin' happened. Just wish that Bevell could have not screwed the moment up by throwing the ball at the 2 in the Superbowl.
Normally I don't correct people, but you're looking for "bawled." Talking about balling after the Seahawks won.... and it being a massive relief..... that just sounds dirty.
Best game ever. So bad ass you were there. Well, 2nd best game ever. Best game ever was the Superbowl win.
this michael bennett dude who sat for the national anthem now is claiming he was racially profiled in vegas. lol yeah, whatevez bro
