That isn't the point. We are in the now, in the second round, and the team (as it is currently constructed) was not built for a deep playoff run. Neil is slowly adding pieces, but it's obvious the bench isn't ready for this kind of thing. It's just becoming painfully obvious as the Spurs are dismantling us.
I completely expected a thread like this from NB3. Almost every poster here knows this team wasn't going to win a title. Your Internet binge is making you lose touch with reality.
And I completely expected this personal attack post from you. Your consistency as a person who can't talk basketball and only takes shots at other posters remains intact!
Probably. However I blame the city of Portland for his woes, Portland is to shooters as Seattle is to Wide Receivers.
This team just isn't ready to play the kind of game that San Antonio is known for. We can't make the same kind of mistakes as the team did against Houston and not expect some sort of drop off. The future of the West belongs to San Antonio until the Lakers come back.
That's a short future. I don't care what people say, eventually this team is going to be too old to compete. Duncan is almost 40. Parker is in his 30's. Manu is in his 30's. There is an expiration. We don't know what that is, but it exists and when those three are gone they will have a dropoff.
The Lakers of old died with Dr. Buss, his stupid son is running the team now. Don't expect them to become an amazing team just because of their past.
Did they get to the Finals? No. Did they win any championships? No. They were winning a ton of games, and they had the supposed MVP, but they couldn't go the distance.
This team was hardly built to win a playoff series Idk how they pulled it off against a better team in the Rockets, but upsets/miracles happen
Why do you think Houston was the better team? Identical records, similar makeups, terrible defense from both teams... they were practically mirror images.
