Is everyone here just offering speculation and opinion over why KP appears to be a goner?

    Heck yes. :sherlock:

And why is that happening? Because the people who could offer an explanation are choosing to jerk the fans around and treat us like mushrooms.

Speaking of a manchild whose feelings tend to get hurt, multiple jealous media sources say Allen is firing Pritchard because you project your emotions onto Paul Allen.

My opinion is that the original plan for not using RLEC and clearing cap space for last summer was to make a run at Kobe Bryant. I know for an absolute fact that KP and his staff were considering this because I heard KP say it at the meet and greet that ABM organized two seasons ago. Obviously, this plan blew up when the Darius Miles situation cost the Blazers $9 million off of their available cap space. When that happened, Kobe re-signed with the Lakers and left the Blazers with a slim crop of free agents. If I were PA, in hindsight I might question the decision making of my GM in electing to go for such a high risk game plan and coming up with not much to show for it. Turkoglu looks to have been a bad idea as a backup plan. Millsap would have been nice, but that blew up in KP's face. Miller is a nice piece, but he's not the impact player for the long run of a young team that the Blazers had to be hoping to land with the only cap space their likely to have for years to come.

Funny thing is, I'm a KP supporter. I think he's done a good job and I hope he can do something in the draft and save his job. I was just giving my guess, labeled as such, as to why KP's on the hot seat.

    About the same as yours.

In fairness, Millsap can't be blamed on KP. He was a restricted free agent. KP made a very lucrative offer and essentially dared Utah to match, which they did. It's not that they did not try hard enough or sell Portland.

True, but the knock on KP would be that the plan for using the cap space came down to a high risk offer with little chance of winning.

Now THAT is hilarious. Nate's team managed to win 2 games without a healthy Brandon Roy.

The Spurs/Greg Popovich won how many games against the Suns?

I think you can argue the two teams in the WC that have given the Lakers the most trouble the past two years are the Rockets and Suns. Not definite, but debatable.

Sure it saved him that money that one year. But how much money did he pay him to sit on the bench and do nothing for? RLEC was brought in to provide a negotiating piece, not to suck up a fat paycheck and do nothing.

Those pieces at the tradeline ended up being VC, Jefferson, Gerald Wallace, Miller. Yeah, not great.

Sometimes the best trade is no trade. I don't think PA realizes this, and that's what separates Pritchard from hacks like Trader Bob.

please. When the club's President offered his views on KP's status and refuted the validity of the rumors his statements were mocked by you and others too. Some posters are choosing to read into the tea leaves following the lead of the regular gossip mongers, which is fine... some fans really enjoy speculating and freaking out. But you can't tell me that the club hasn't made any effort to offer explanations, some just want to do the :NOTMARIS: dance

we're not in on the decisions and never will be. We won't be in on any internal discussions on prospects, potential coaches, or management ever. That seems like the smart way to go to me... if you owned the club would you be an open book in all matters for the fans?

This doesn't even make sense. Are you getting enough sleep? Posts at 2am, posts at 6am, those sort of hours can't be easy for a man of your age.

Mark Warkentein has been jealous of Pritchard and has coveted his job for years. In Denver, he's been limited by an owner that has a no luxury tax policy. That's why he had to give Marcus Camby away for nothing. He wants to work for an owner with deep pockets that will give him the freedom he lacks in Denver. Where do you think AWoj has been getting all of his anti-Pritchard information? Warkentein has been feeding it to him in an effort to undermine Pritchard and steal his job.

Now this. What a totally douchebag move. He's asking to interview for KP's job when KP is still employed by the Blazers and has over a year left on his current contract. Do you really think this is all just a big coincidence and that Mark Warkentein has absolutely nothing to do with AWoj's smear campaign against Kevin Pritchard?

Well, obviously, if Tom Penn used the word "gay" in such a derogatory fashion (as in gay = stupid, senseless) I'd fire his ass. Seriously.

If he used it in that manner in casual conversation outside of the work environment?

Arguably the most badass post I've seen since the Oden injury in December.

Reminds me of the dice in the alley scene in this video 0:35 mark:

Actually everything about Paul Allen owning an NBA team reminds me of this video...
