Ahhh, but don't you see? Small market teams are nothing but cannon fodder in Stern's NBA. Their fans should realize that and know their role! (yes, sez The Rock, and Shut Their Mouth)

LeBron and "The Decision" gives me all the reason in the world to declare that entire organization evil. Everything else matters zero.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Please stop disrupting narratives. Watching pro sports is about morality, and the Heat are bad people who are hurting people's lives. Don't trivialize that.

if stuff like that really bothers someone, I'd suggest not watching it. I didn't watch it because I didn't care enough to. I'll be watching the finals and hoping to see some great hoops though.

I wouldn't mind if in an offseason key players took significantly less $$$ to sign with what they'd hope would be a title contending Blazer team

I understand where you are going with this, but given that there's as much chance of that as me fucking Olivia Munn tonight, I guess I'll just have to keep being a "Hater".

I had a thread about this. It always happens. The NBA rigs it so the majority of fans will hate the winner of the championship. A few times they throw some good guys in there, but most of the time...no.

You guys, you guys. So if Miami wins, that means it was rigged? Please. If the league was rigged, it would be Kobe vs LeBron the last three years. But it's not. The Lakers got swept in the first round. The reason teams like Port, Minn, Indy may never win anything is because they have a victim complex and believe it is rigged so they and their fan bases want to avoid the team during playoff positioning or give-up altogether. Dallas didn't do that. They didn't whine after "perceived" slight by the refs. They just ran back on defense and played hard, never giving into the "we don't have a chance" mentality that people like Andre Miller and maxiep have.

And that is why I'm rooting for the Mavs.

KingSpeed, psychologist. Why don't you just admit you don't know what the fuck you are talking about and leave it at that?

Look, there have been some decent guys who played for the Lakers. They were OK before they joined the Lakers and maybe OK after they left, but while there they were poison. Same with the decent guys who play for the Heat. Nothing personal against Bibby et al.

Or as the Godfather said, it's business, not personal.

There are Dallas players I really dislike (Jason Kidd, DeShawn Stevenson) but I dislike them for who they are and what they've done. I think Mark Cuban is obnoxious, joining the team on the bench and acting like people go to games to see him and insisting his money makes him smarter than the rest of us. I dislike him for who he is.

Lakers I dislike because they are Lakers. The Heat have joined that category. I am eternally grateful that Dallas knocked out the Lakers so we don't have to watch the sports media all but masturbate in public over a Heat/Lakers finals. And that's enough reason to cheer for Dallas.

Just so we are clear every time someone says these 3 clowns took a pay cut to play together in Miami and didn't cash in on more money with other teams..... FYI!! They don't pay income tax in Florida! Think about the savings... One might think they broke even and still got what they wanted!

If two Southern Fascist teams had to make the Finals, I'm just glad that one of them isn't Satan's team, Oklahoma City. Stern must be crying in the spa with Bennett, rubbing his eyes with their mutual towel. Satan Stern stole the Sonics and his fork-tailed protege Stuie Jackson ruined the Vancouver Grizzlies. What depths of evil can Man reach? Only the Shadow knows.

Above their deep darkness in the Sun romps the happy, childlike Mark Cuban. An agent of Fidel Castro, Cuban is a rosy-cheeked epitome of the pleasingly plump cherub we all want to cheer.

Cuban a cherub? That's really a stretch. Even more than an agent of Castro.

Besides, there are no Jewish cherubs.
