I am thinking more Like CJ and Will together. Will plays playground ball but that equates to energy and getting others involved. This team wouldn't have the success it's had without Mo as the backup, but the 2nd unit stagnates and needs more energy.
I'm still waiting to see Barton and Crabbe play together in the second unit. At least they can defend some.
I am not sure I get your question. Are you suggesting TRob does not like to dunk, or that he can't dunk, or he is not good at it?
In dunk position he regularly shoots it off the backboard.... and I have no idea why. Anyone else notice this?
http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...and_a_little_heart-to-heart.html#incart_river After a little venting and a little heart-to-heart with Wesley Matthews, Thomas Robinson embraces role with Trail Blazers
He's starting to get it. It sounds like Wes told him what most of us have been saying: Play with energy, crash the boards, don't overthink it.
I can understand why he'd struggle with accepting himself as a role player in the NBA, and probably still will struggle with it from time to time. He was dominant at Kansas, and was a potential #1 overall pick who was treated the same as a rival to Anthony Davis by some NBA experts. Less then two years later, he's on his third team, was traded for a bag of peanuts, and has been an end of rotation player this season. He's athletic, a bit nasty, and has a motor. That's how he's going to get a MLE contract in the NBA, as opposed to being a veteran minimum guy after his rookie deal expires.
Tomorrow night against Faried and Hickson is the biggest night of Robinson's NBA career. Those players are similar to him, and were drafted lower than him. I hope Stotts gives him the start just to see how Robinson responds. LMA is due back on Wednesday, so throw Robinson into heavy minutes tomorrow night.
If I remember right he was mediocre as a freshman an sophomore. It was the basketball IQ problem. He had one big year as a junior and declared before he could go backward again.
TRob showed glimpses of his impact during preseason with Leonard..they played well together. For all the folks screaming for a pt guard, Earl Watson is a real pt guard and probably the best defender of all our pt guards. We have one now.
His description was better. Yours described the article as a "good read," which everyone knows can't be true because it's from the Oregonian.
I clicked, saw the same woman's term "heart-to-heart" that Quick always used, realized that Freeman's stuff is rewritten by the same female editor as Quick's was, vomited, and got out of the site. And that was just from looking at the headline. Good thing I didn't get to the first sentence.
I have believed in him since the day Blazers acquired him. He has shown glimpses IMO a few times this year. But after he shows the brilliance he seems to fall under the radar. Someone in here once posted that they questioned his IQ as it was rumored that he couldn't remember the teams plays. I just wonder if he has the head to ever be consistent. I think the ability is there. But mentally does he have it to put it all together? Only he has the answer to to this. I like him and am by no means ready to give up on him.
