I looked at his salary and it said 880. I could be wrong though. It hasn't been the first time! ;)

His cap hit was in the 800's. That is likely the number you saw. But his salary was in the high 1.3's.

Okay let's agree on 1.4 mil. A raise to 2-3 mil is still working in my cost vs production model.

I'm just not all that interested in worrying about our team's 12th Man right now. We need to be focused on getting a center to play in our top 5.
Jermaine is still hanging on - but is in no way a solution for this young Blazers team. We aren't in a deep playoff run, so we don't require a lot of depth or experience.
We just need better players overall, and especially the bench. But, guys a bit more than 6 months from being put out to pasture....please!!!

Adding jermaine isn't a big issue though. We still need a minimum of players; so olshey still needs to find those players.

    Thoughts:
    1. He's old and broken down.
    2. He hasn't been any help to a team for a while.
    3. If he's going to sign for the vet min. it will be for a team that has a chance to go far.
    4. I hope he retires.

It's amazing that this old broken down player is averaging 8 points, 5 boards, 1.5 blocks and shooting 48%. Getting all of this in 25 minutes.

If Portland had more of these old washed up players this season; they would actually have a bench they could be proud of.

This is a really good point. Using my newly developed Super Friends matrix, we have a Batman (Lillard), we have a Superman (Aldridge), we have a Flash (Batum), we have a Green Arrow (Matthews). What we need is a Green lantern before we focus on the Aquaman's, WonderWoman's and Blue Beetles of the world. And definitely not the wonder twins

No, you are failing miserably at this.

Robin from Super Friends. If we are talking teen titans then Robin is obviously the man....er boy

I disagree. Having him on the roster would make him part of the daily conversation about the team, and the "we shoulda kept him when we had him" people would come out of the woodwork.

All of that doesn't matter now. It's over and done with. But that doesn't mean Jermaine wouldn't be useful to have on our team.

Exactly.... Who gives a fuck with the "Shoulda coulda woulda" fans.... If Jerm can be had for cheap, then why not? He's a defensive minded PF/C and is already at peace with being a back-up type role player. Isn't that what we need?

I have zero problems with bringing in JO for the right price. Love to hear his attitude and I think Meyers could actually learn a few things from a person he looks up to. And once again it sounds like the knee treatment in Germany and the Phoenix Suns trainers are doing wonders for people.

This is not a horrible option. Jermaine would be a nice veteran addition IMO. We would still need a 3rd center though.

The question is can we afford two vets and Leonard
    O'Neal, Leonard and another rookie
O'Neal, Leonard and someone like Mozgov

Center by committee may have to be the option whether we like it or not.

My first thought when I read it. I read about what Germany does, but what does the Phoenix staff do. Get O'Neal just for that reason alone and have him give a detailed account.
