Chauncey Billups or Chucky Atkins need to be in it fo sho. These 2 fellas are amazing from the land of plenty. Last year, Jon Barry was 3rd in 3-pt% and didn't even get accepted to the challenge. That was some stuff. If JB and Brent Barry made it to the finals, that would be some tight stuff. I bet if Jon Barry wasn't injured out in Denver he would get a lot more recognition.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trail_Blazer76:</div><div class="quote_post">Cuttino Mobley? Why? I think that they should pick elite shooters so that it is actually a good competition. I am tired of seeing David Wesley's and Antoine Walkers. I think that it would be great to see Shane Battier.</div> Mobley's a 40% 3-pt shooter, and is among the leaders in 3-pt makes and attempts...so 40% is a good number when you're puttin em up consistently...
3-point pick Rockets guard Cuttino Mobley will be invited today to participate in the NBA 3-point shooting contest, a source with knowledge of the decision said Wednesday. Mobley, sixth in the NBA with 79 3-pointers and tied for eighth with 39.3 percent shooting on his 3s, had made it clear he hoped to have a place in the All-Star Weekend competitions while waiting for a chance in the game itself. "It's cool," Mobley said. "I'm kind of excited. Just to be involved in it is cool, to be around that whole atmosphere. Playing the game would be great. Then I'd be really excited. But this is exciting, too. You've got legends like Larry Bird that have been in it. To be part of the history is good." http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2365503
From NBA.com: Two-time defending champion Peja Stojakovic of the Sacramento Kings highlights a field of six in the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, to be held on NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by America Online, February 14 at the Staples Center. Rounding out the star-studded field of six will be Seattle?s Brent Barry, Detroit?s Chauncey Billups, Denver?s Voshon Lenard, Seattle?s Rashard Lewis and Houston?s Cuttino Mobley. Stojakovic will be attempting to join Larry Bird and Craig Hodges as the only players to win the competition in three consecutive years.
