The ThunderBolts added two more players to the growing roster with the signing of Eugene Garnett and Phillip Roy. Eugene Garnett played his collegiate baseball at Saint Leo University, a NCAA Division II program in Florida. Eugene finished the 2010 season with a .340 average 11 home runs in 51 games played. In addition, he compiled 50 RBIs and stole 11 bases. 2011 with the ThunderBolts will mark Garnett's first year of professional baseball.

The ThunderBolts also added another pitcher with affiliated experience by the name of Philip Roy. Roy brings three years of experience playing in the Mariners minor-league ranks. He reached as high as Low-A with the Everett Aqua Sox in 2009. Last season, the 6'4" right handed pitcher played for three different independent franchises. He began the year with the Oakland County Crusiers then headed to the Gateway Grizzles. He played the rest of the year for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. With the Goldeyes he pitched in 19 games racked up 6 saves.

The Windy City ThunderBolts are a member of the twelve-team Frontier League, the oldest professional independent baseball league in the nation. The ThunderBolts open the 2011 season at Standard Bank Stadium on Thursday, May 19th. Season tickets, flex plans, and all group tickets (including suites, picnics, party box, & spa) are on sale now! Single-game tickets for the 2011 season go on sale Saturday, April 30th. For more information please call 708.489.BALL or visit wcthunderbolts.com.
