Went to my first Timbers game last night. Loved it. Eventually made my way over to the Timbers Army just before half time. I observed them for a while to get a feel for it all. Then jumped in for the most part. Met a bunch of cool people. Was given a chant cheat sheet from a hot chick. Drank too much beer. And the match went in to penalty kicks. I wish the Timbers would have won, but it was an extremely entertaining experience and I'll be doing it again. It blows AAA baseball experience out of the water. Not. Even. Close.
was gonna ask what you thought of the atmosphere! Glad you had a fun time. And who knows maybe those chant sheets were the ones I made.. I made a crap load for last night. Last night was an absolutely AMAZING ELECTRIC atmosphere!
I went to a Timbers game about eight years ago, I think it was my 21st birthday actually, and I remember a chant about the opposing keeper. I looked on the Timbers Army chant page and I didn't see it. Something about flying over on a carpet... anyway.... it was hilarious. Do you guys not use it anymore?
The MLS has been around since 1993 (starting play in 1996). The World Cup has only been around since 1930. It's younger than some other leagues, but it's not like it's a startup. Ed O.
