I got a ticket for this match with my season tickets, so I'm going, but it's hard to get excited when playing against some random side. http://www.portlandtimbers.com/newsroom/headlines/index.html?article_id=1610
i'm gonna watch on timbers.com...just was in portland but didnt want to go to the friendly tho it could be a good game
3-1 F Puntarenas Basically the Timbers scored first and then got handled by the visitors who employed a more technical and tactical style of play. I've seen the Timbers use athleticism to beat teams who possessed superior technical skill, but that didn't work for them tonight. The timbers scored first, but Puntarenas stayed patient, waited their chances, then took them, just as you'd expect from a Primera División club. I think the Timbers out shot the Costa Ricans 20-7 or something, but still lost 3-1.
O-live posted that Gavin rested most of the Timbers starting unit. Why take a risk and get some of our starters injured for a non USL 1 match? This match just looked good on paper and profits and thats just about it.
