^^^ I recommend turning the volume down for Awful Coaching analysis. This dude loses his marbles and shouts at the screen.

If anyone wonders why this YouTuber insults Billups... he does yelly screamy basketball breakdowns to every coach.

regardless, it's fascinating to hear some team narratives. >Billups empowers his players to go hard. > Blazers X,Y,Z are better at defense then we think.

Watching Awful Coaching highlights can show a side of Portland basketball that's almost censored in discussions boards.

stop being grumpy and buy tickets !! A financially positive team is what all Blazer fans should consider a victory.

In the NBA coaching only matters (to me) to make a good team better. No coach can make a crappy team good.

However, I will make a special exception for Chauncey Billups.

What we saw in the opening game at home against Golden State, looked to me that there was absolutely no coaching at all.

The Blazers running around like a team that had no plan was in big contrast to Golden State.

I think in just about every case Golden State clearly prioritized getting OPEN 3-point attempts, and plan B was going to the hoop, which was also clear.

Golden State knew how to get open 3-pointers, and knew how to bypass the Blazer defense when they went to the hoop to score.

I don't expect the Blazers to win many games, but why pay a coach to do nothing, or maybe instill negative habits, like Jerami Grant hucking up Constested Long Range 2-pointers.

Until they stop playing this way it’s a hard team to watch. There is no reason to have Grant shooting like that. Unless it changes I will be left to conclude that this *is* chancey ball

why he wasn't let go this summer I have no idea, Jody too cheap to pay him one year? He's an awful coach for a rebuilding team IMO

I'm not opposed, but who should we replace him with? One of the new assistants that were brought in?

Look I’m just a fan of basketball. If the coach doesn’t matter, keep Billups because who the fuck cares. If the coach does matter, then there must be better coaches than Billups because we fucking suck out there. If there are no better coaches available then the sport is fucking doomed.

I knew someone would ask that, so I said what NBA GMs say-Cassell, Nori, Sweeney, or Quinn.

I suspect Cronin is not firing Chauncy, because Chancy cooperated with Cronin's tanking orders.

If you tell a guy to sit players and lose on purpose, then fire him, it's bad....optics, karma...something.

But the problem is Billups clearly just sucks as a coach, and I think this is hurting our young players' development.

What good coach is going to take the job for the Blazers mess of a roster and shitty ownership?

If anything the Blazers need to show Billups why they want him to stick with the team, not the other way around.

Blazers aren't going to want to pay Billups to not coach and pay another coach, so all these discussions are pointless.

Somebody who has never had a head coaching job before. There are a ton of great developmental people who would be incredible for a young team like this. They would love to make that salary.

The trick is to make sure you don't hire another Billups.

Billups is irrelevant and as such, he's hurting the development of these players.

I just think you keep Billups at this point. He’s willing to play to lose and just take his paycheck.
