What are the chances of doing a sign-and-trade for Bynum? Matthews and Freeland equal roughly 9.5 million. Send out Freeland and Matthews for Bynum, that still leaves us with our 11 million in cap space.

Use the money to sign Tony Allen for 4 years/$20 million and re-sign JJ for 4 years/$24 million.

    Lillard/McCollum
    Allen/Crabbe/Barton
    Batum/Claver
    Aldridge/Hickson
    Bynum/Leonard

Philly won't do a sign and trade. They are tanking HARD, they have no use for a young vet role player like Matthews at his price. They will sign and trade him for picks and cash for sure, but that is only good for Bynum and the extra contract year would suck for us if he is not healthy.

Bynums knees are just too risky to gamble on for this franchise, especially with their recent history.
Tony Allen would be a nice addition, but , Hickson will be expecting more than 6 million per season.
    So can't see this happening.

I'm sure Hickson is expecting more than 6 million per, but will he get it? That's the question.

A lot of teams have FA money to spend, so I think he will end up getting the deal he's hoping for.
( + his stats for last season wont hurt either)

They do, but there are other power forwards who are better than Hickson.

    Josh Smith
    Paul Millsap
    Al Jefferson

I really wouldn't be surprised if teams want to sit on their space and tank for the 2014 draft.

Whilst Smith & Millsap will most likely get a call before Hickson, he does have youth going for him.
    He's only 24 (25?)

It's true. I'm not saying he won't get any interest, I just don't think he'll get the big payday he thinks he's going to get.

I'd love to see Hickson remain a Blazer, but I think he'll get an offer out of our range from another team. (7.5-9 mill per)

That would definitely tank them; plus they have assets for Bynum.

I agree with this for two reasons.

The free agent pool next summer has better quality and adding assets will only hurt your chances of losses.

If its around 7-8 mil; I wouldn't mind doing that. And with the Bynum scenario that Nate suggested; we would have cap space for both players he mentioned.

    Just saw this:

    Tom Moore ‏@tmoorepburbs 7m
#Sixers could be close to $20 million under the cap on early July, but spending beyond 1-year deals could jeopardize chance to be as much as $36 million under salary cap with better free agent class and possibly two lottery picks in 2014. #Sixers

Adding Matthews and freeland would cost them; but they would have roster spots filled and most likely shitty enough to be one of the worst.

Also, they will still have around 18 mil, even with this deal next summer. If they get the #1 pick; I wouldn't be surprised if a young stud will sign with them. Best upside.
