    Nevermind, I saw the tweets...

Can you pay another team to buyout a player? It has to be some sort of trade doesn't it...

TJ > Patty and TJ >>> Marks. If he'll sign with us for the vet min, then it's a great move.

TJ at one time was unstoppable. i remember early in his career I dreaded the Blazers facing him. They had no answer for him. What the hell happened to the guy? He is still only 28 years old. I hope we get him. As a backup PG he is just what we need with that second unit. Has he lost a step?

Injuries, combined with apathy from what I can tell.

It would be awesome if he could rejuvenate his career if paired with his close friend Aldridge.

Maybe we could trade 2nd round picks, and send them $3M for the privilege.

Ford is better than either Mills or Johnso, of that there shouldn't be any doubt.....

Agreed. He's not a big-time splash.. but he would make the overall team better. I've always liked his game.. he's a true PG.

Well if this falls through we can always sign Jamaal Tinsley if they dead set on a poor-shooting, past-his-prime PG.

I would too. But with Roy added to the seond unit scoring is less of a factor from the PG spot.
I honestly do not know what happened to this guy, but he could break down a defense with the best of them. Maybe he sucks right now, but I would like to try him out for 25 games.

He has a spine that could sever with any wrong blow. He now plays to protect it. I can't believe he's still playing.

What shooting? I mean for a guy whose best asset is his shooting, he sure misses a lot of wide open shots....

I see. So he doesn't attack the basket anymore? That is a problem for a guy who has no outside shot. Still worth 25 games. A few games with us, a knee surgery or two, and he will forget all about his spine.

you can't pay someone to buy out a player, and we wouldn't need to. The TJ Ford happening has literally nothing to do with the trade deadline. He's either bought out by Indy or isn't. Once he is, he is an UFA and can sign with anyone for any amount.

The most we could pay is the BAE, ~1.5M. The most many teams could pay is the vet minimum (~1.2M). Storyteller's page has all the MLEs/BAEs available. He'll get a pro-rated portion of that, in addition to whatever his buyout was (which, seeing from his links above, will be almost identical to his remaining salary). So it's in his interest to go somewhere he's wanted and make a little extra scratch. Indy seems to want to just get him out of there.

This move would bring put Rudy at 0 minutes played a game.

Also, I would do this move. He's not great but he's better than Patty. He's probably faster than Patty as well.

Nah, he'll still get run. Ford and Rudy don't overlap at all in terms of skillset.
