How long exactly is TJ Ford going to be out for does anyone know? IF the Bucks get Mo Williams im sure he'll be splitting time with Mike James at the Point. When Ford returns then i think Mo will backup Redd at the 2 spot. I hope TJ will return healthy, and not lose a step. there has to be a reason why the bucks offered mo williams so much money when he was a #3 pg in utah. there just has to be...

Bucks landed Mo Williams. Mo's a great player but I dont think he'll blossom in Milwaukee unless he gets significant minutes which is unlikely behind James, Ford when he's back and Redd. O i just posted that because I got nothing on Ford.

    i saw on real gm.com...

T.J. Ford is on a long road to recovery from spinal-cord stenosis surgery, which he had on May 5th. Ford suffered the injury on Feb. 24th in a game versus Minnesota when he slammed into the floor after a drive, landing square on his tailbone and his skull hitting the hardwood.

Team doctors initally believed the injury was a bruise to the spinal cord, but when it failed to heal as quickly as expected, it became evident that surgery would be needed.

He?s recovering in Houston, taking things very slowly. He is unable to run, shoot, or lift weights yet.

?Right now I?m just rehabbing,? Ford told the Austin American-Statesman. ?I?m just working to get my body parts stronger, so I won?t have to worry about that type of injury again. I have to make sure I?m 100 percent. I have to heal right.?

The slow recovery means Ford is unlikely to return in time for the start of training camp in October. Ford can?t say when he will be ready to play, only that the doctors says he is recovering on schedule.

Ford is scheduled for a series of medical tests today in Milwaukee, then will go to Los Angeles on Thursday for another checkup regarding his cervical spine surgery. Harris said the Bucks might know late this week or early next week about the rehabilitation plan for Ford. The point guard suffered a spinal cord injury when he fell hard to the floor in a game on Feb. 28, and he missed the rest of the season. He underwent surgery in early June in Los Angeles.</div>
I'm sure after this check up there will be an estimated date till when he will be able to play again and hopefully he will be able to play by the time the season starts.

The most important thing is that he has to be 100% before he even attempts to come back.
Injuries like these could affect him in the long run of his career if he doesn't take full care of it right now.

The Bucks are not that desperate for him to start the season, so his health should be his first priority.

    Good luck. [IMG]

I wish Ford the best he was having a great rookie season and really proving people who questioned him because of his size wrong before the injury. This injury was a huge set back for him in his NBA career. This might wrongfully cause people to place a injury prone label on him like they did with my boy Vince. I think that Ford was probably the second or third best pure point guard in last years NBA draft, and can continue to have a good NBA career if he comes back at full strength.

Any injury to the spine is very serious and can stay with you for several years if not the rest of your life. I think unless he prepares himself well and does his rehabilitation to the fullest when he comes back the injury will continue to be with him some what and eventually be the cause of cutting his career short. Though I am sure he will not come back until he is at full health and having the best doctors at your desposal will give him a better chance at coming back with no nagging injuries.

    Harris Provides T.j. Ford Update

    HARRIS PROVIDES T.J. FORD UPDATE
Bucks General Manager Larry Harris has provided an update on the condition of T.J. Ford, following consultation with team physicians and medical specialists.

"T.J. Ford continues his rehabilitation following spinal surgery last spring. His spinal cord bruise is improving but has not yet resolved. At this point, we anticipate that T.J. will be unable to actively participate when training camp opens on October 4," said Harris.

During the rehabilitation period, Ford has been able to take part in cardiovascular training, weight work and core stabilization maintenance. He will attend all sessions of training camp but will not take part in basketball work.

"Until T.J. is able to begin basketball-type activity, we will not attempt to put a timetable on his return to the playing court," Harris concluded.
