Some of my best friends are Mexican. I sleep at their houses and eat at their dinner tables. I spend 10+ hours a day working with my one of my Mexican friends. I’ve worked with literally hundreds of Hispanics doing labor jobs since I was 16.
Many Hispanics are conservative, especially in rural areas where energy and labor jobs feed the economy. Many of these Hispanics were Trump supporters in the last election. This isn’t some bold claim, it’s just a fact.

Your biased NBC news story doesn’t mean shit. It was written by, and for, Liberals who are completely out of touch with anything outside of their political bubble. Read it and pat yourself on the back but dont think it means anything more than some Hispanic progressives stating an anti-trump opinion.

You've certainly zero evidence other than what you say you saw, backing up your assertion.
For the last time, show me some credible evidence that refutes what I found. You seem to be having trouble with that. I'll wait.

You are just calling me a liar in a smug, backhanded way. I don’t have to prove my personal experiences to you with mainstream news links. Nor could I, I think you know that but that is your little loophole to win the argument. Whatever it takes Lanny. I could have just as easily demanded proof that you actually have family in Alabama, but I’m not that petty.

It doesn’t take a mainstream news link to verify the world around you. If you can’t believe anyone but the talking heads on the tv screen, you’ve got bigger problems than me making up wacky and unbelievable stories about...*GASP*...knowing Hispanic people.

Again, how about asking me whether I intended calling you a liar? The answer is no, I never intended my post to declare you a liar. My post was pretty much standard debate technique. He who makes an assertion needs to back it up. I asserted that Hispanic Americans largely disapproved of Trump and I backed it up with some evidence. You asserted that they were supporting Trump in large numbers and presented nothing but anecdotes. All I did was ask you for some credible evidence which I highly doubt you can find.
If you have no understanding of basic debate then there is no hope of any kind of fruitful discussion.

I don't think there is actually a factual disagreement between the two of you - it can be (and probably is) simultaneously true that the overall US population of Hispanics do not favor Trump, whereas the relatively few, apparently rural Hispanics that jonnyboy personally encounters are Trump fans.

I’m not playing debate games with you. I made a comment to another poster, you interjected and implied I needed to back up my anecdotal evidence with links or whatever. I don’t. Like I said, I’m not in a formal debate with you, so therefore don’t have to follow your made up rules.

OMG, who said it was a formal debate? No one, that's who. You just seem to fantasize stuff as shit and then assume it's true and proceed from there. It's obvious to all that it's informal debate, got that? Informal debate. Now, that's not license to go off half cocked and expect anyone to discuss anything with some going off half cocked.
By the way, I did not make up the rules. I learned some elementary rules in high school that are needed for any kind of meaningful discussion.

Here's a major tip in any significant discussion in here or nearly anywhere else. e.g. It's what I had to do in business meetings.
"Gather supporting evidence and examples for position taken."

Nobody is expected to “gather supporting evidence and examples for position taken” in informal conversations. That’s just another crazy Lanny anecdote. This isn’t one of your business meetings, most business meetings are, get this, FORMAL DISCUSSIONS. Congratulations on your business meetings by the way, did you just wear people down until they said fuck it? That’s also a very effective tactic.

Okay, this is getting nowhere and I can see it never will so I'm bowing out.
