<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Waqas @ Nov 26 2006, 01:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Look, Bowen IS a dirty defender. The he hits other people belongs to the NFL and all. Just look at Roy Williams. He used a dirty move (the horse-collar) and there's a rule called the Roy Williams Rule. But this is basketball, where the offense should get the benefit from rules as it's supposed to be high-scoring. Looking at that, there should be a Bruce Bowen Rule at least for the things he does that can injure a player.Hey, the NFL did it, even though it's a lower-scoring game...</div>What are they going to do, put a rule on no blocking out your defender? That is what happenned when VC landed on his foot. You can say all you want that he purposley meant to do that, but I think that is flat out stupid. No player intends to hurt somebody....except for maybe Danny Fortson. He plays aggresivley....and sometimes he gets over aggressive. But it is an instinct to block a player out and that is what happenned with Carter. And the offensive players do get the benefits of the rules....so what are you trying to say? When Bowen grabs peoples jerseys, the refs will call it if they see it. Refs in football miss calls every once in a while too...

Thing about Bowen, his recent "block out" with Francis was intentional as his one foot was way out from the other. The feet should be parallel, it was inexcusable and he injured Francis. They even replayed it on NBAtv with a retired senior official who said players need space to land from their jumper, Bowen moving his leg back takes the space away and could lead to injury/foul. The official said Bowen needs to be told of this, to prevent any future incidents. Besides that, it seems fairly common that it's occuring with Bowen on more then one time. That's not a coincidence in my book. He knows what he's doing, if players are getting hurt, he should be changing his stance to in sure a clean block out. But he's not.

All you people who are saying Bruce Bowen couldn't / can't control if someone lands on his foot while blocking out are downright retarded. When I went to the UNC basketball camp, they taught me: Foot, Turn, Butt on BallsAll those times Bruce Bowen tries doing his "block out" he clearly misses out on those last two steps. I swear, have you seen these replays? Have you guys played basketball?Bowen looks down, plants his foot, but instead of turning into the defender to block out he simply turns his head to see the shot. I don't know if Bowen is deliberately trying to hurt someone or if he's just clumsy as sh*t, but there is no excuse. If he put his mind to it, he could control all these injuries he's calling. The man moves into players in mid air for God's sakes. HOW THE F*ck CAN HE NOT CONTROl IT?
