How does one reconcile being pro-life and then shrug your shoulders at kids and women being massacred because of Trumps decision to leave our allies high and dry?
Once you are born you are on your own, sucka! Every toddler for himself and the devil take the hindmost. barfo
I feel like this is a pretty massive assumption that someone who is pro life is also: A) a fan of Trump. B) Supports pulling our troops out of Syria, or at the very least is indifferent about it.
If someone is anti abortion, if that’s one of their hot buttons, they tend to vote Republican, no? If you support trump, and are pro life, it seems odd that those people who fall into that category, aren’t yelling from the rooftops.
but you have said you will vote for him based on your hard stance on being pro life. So you’ll vote for him based on being pro life. But not based on his decisions to knowingly cause the deaths of innocent people.
let’s use his rally yesterday as an example. Of those in attendance, what % of them are pro life? I would say 90%. And they sure seemed pretty happy with Trump. Lots of laughing and cheering. While kids were getting their legs blown off.
There are a lot of people like ABM, who claim right to life is too important to not vote for Trump. But that just seems weird to me when kids are dying or locked in cages etc.
I dont know... I hate voting on things simply because of my feelings. Mid and late term abortions really like, for lack of a good way to articulate it just make me feel uncomfortable and post birth abortions just seem out wrong way in my feelings perspective... I understand rape, and 1st term abortions and many of those arguments and Ive mostly come to just understand that for many people those abortions will happen one way or another and to that end I am ok or have reconciled with it. One of my best friends growing up and the best man at my wedding was a preemie and that may cloud my judgement some. I think though on my feelings side, Im kind of “prolife”, but I dont support Trump, I dont support whats going on in the middle east right now either. It seems like quite the leap to say that because one is “prolife” they’re fine with whats going on over there...
Ok. I’ll edit. Pro lifers who also vote for trump. How do they sleep at night? And maybe we only have a couple of those. Maybe it’s more of a general question I have for this place. How is it justified. I’m legit curious.
Damn! This post is hard to imagine that anyone fits the assumption made in one short sentence. Reconcile is probably out of the question. I sort of doubt that I qualify as a pro-life person. I sure as hell valued my children and grand children. Each have been a more than welcome addition in my life. But on the other hand, I am not in favor of forcing any woman to raise a child she does not wish to have. We have no need for more feral children lose in our society. I expect honoring the teachings of Jesus and the Bible especially the covenants of marriage, of a man and a woman before God and their peers makes a huge difference here. Not that I can claim to be a Christian, but I do appreciate what they along with the Jews have given us. I just can't grasp shrugging shoulders at kids being massacred. Nor can I relate to leaving allies high and dry. The attempt to paint a picture, does not connect. We have one ally, that just helped us in defeating a common enemy. We have another ally that is not an ally of the other most recent helping ally. But there you are, both allies, but opposed to each other. Quite frankly, as a person that has worked in that area of the world, I don't trust any of them. In fact, I am an infidel to most of them. Yes it has been affirmed. However, I will offer the memory of Presidents using American forces as a trip wire or a inhibitor of aggression in the past. It has been done to start wars, like Vietnam, and attempt to prevent them like Beirut Lebanon. Beirut resulted in the loss of 241 US Marines dead. It did not stop a damn thing. I think this was the last time a Republican US President ever attempted such folly. He ended up apologizing profusely, for the dumb ass folly, as well he should. When you leave troops or force where they are not doing a damn thing of value, except to be waiting to be abused, for the purpose of becoming an outrageous atrocity, the focal point of righteous indignation for the nation, you are not a leader. Just a panderer to the fools that never use their brain, just follow the mass emotion of the correct indignity. I am very pleased that this President followed the Constitution, our signed treats, and acted in the interest of our Nation and the welfare of his troops. Well done Sir!
If you aren’t pro life this isnt for you. But of course you can try to answer how one would be pro life and pro trump.
Well, I think I just did. If you want a binary vote on pro life, yeah or nay. It's yeah. But, the world is not that simple. Thus my answer. We don't have just one ally in this tussle. Not all interests are our interest. At my age, our troops are children of some of my countrymen. I hate to see children lost. I know not all people have my values. I know many of my countrymen do not know, not all people share my values. Not even all of my countrymen share my values. The closest we come as countryman to shared values is written in the Bible and the Constitution. I could go on...
In nature, there tends to be an inverse relationship between number of off-spring and how the parent cares for the off-spring. There is a subset of the "pro-life" movement that follows the rodent model: produce big litters and then be indifferent if most don't survive. Not all fit that mold, but the ones that dominate current republican politics certainly do.
