I heard Canzano stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Its seems like Canzano's answer to everything is to trade Miller. When Roy was a projected All-star JC said the two couldn’t exist, now the team may be without Roy or have a severely diminished version and JC still says the answer is to trade Miller?

Lets see, that Miller guy is an above average starting PG on a reasonable salary that the team would benefit from this and next season.... maybe we could just keep him?

An expiring contract is only going to benefit another team if they have an overpaid player. So Canzano wants Cho to find a player who is much better than Andre but so overpaid his current team wants to cut him.... How is Anna able to meet this fools expectations?

Oregonian management think they own the team. They want players who are malleable and will play tennis with Quick so he can plumb them for information and find whom to criticize in print to score points with their hater readers. This means they prefer a roster full of young naive players. They hate players like Sheed or Miller who know the game they are playing.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Oden's a star if he stays healthy and out of foul trouble. I have optimism, but it is far from a done deal. Aldridge is not a star. He's a very good player, but he'd need to take a significant step forward to become a star.

Still not with you on this. By that logic, there's usually one or two point guards in every draft who can pass the ball, or one or two centers in the draft who can rebound the ball, etc. Wings are plentiful, but star wings are not. This is similar, to me, to the debate about what positions you need stars at to win titles. When you look at championship teams, it's not the positions that matter...it's the stars. The Bulls won six titles with two star wings. Jordan and Pippen were better than Roy, but what mattered was the talent, not the positions. You need that elite talent, and that is hard to find no matter what position it occupies.

Sure, the Blazers can find a guy to play shooting guard who will score points. He just won't have the impact of a Brandon Roy. The Cavs lost a wing this past off-season...it's easy to find wings. It's just hard to find elite talents like James. To a much lesser extent (than LeBron James), but still a very significant extent, it's hard to find elite talents like Roy. I really don't think his position makes the blow to the franchise any smaller.

I think the logic is that Miller is a great asset. Both productive (very productive) and an expiring contract (if the acquiring team wants to use him that way). And as good as Miller is, he's 35, which means not a whole lot left in the tank.

So is Canzano being a jerk by suggesting that Cho use an asset before it loses its value? It's a reasonable idea assuming that Roy is semi-permanently done ... and even if he isn't completely washed up, if he could somehow trade for a guy in his prime that plays the same position at roughly equal the same level (like Devin Harris for instance) then I would call that a good use of resources with an eye to the long term future of this team.

For a change I pretty much agree with what he said, he was honest about our options and we do really have to evaluate our trading chips and future needs based upon Roy's outcome and Oden later on as well. It could be an interesting trade deadline this year.

Canzano is a joke. You can see he almost never quotes the players and staff anymore. Most people don't walk to talk to this douchebag.

Only people who write possitive things about the team know anything.

In the distance, a twig snaps.

    No, that was Camby's leg.

Stay low, keep quiet. We may not hear from Sgt. Roy for months.

The idea that there is going to be some grand announcement hours after having a study -- like their announcing the birth of this third child or something -- is a little over the top.

It may be days or even weeks before we hear anything definitive. My guess is that for now, no news is somewhat good news or at the very least it's just that, "no news."

    Chill out people
