Korver has a better shot, Tony has better penetrations. Allen is way better on the defensive side of the game and is definately a better athlete. Allen also had some legal problems this year and I definately think you could add that into the equation. I would take Tony because he's more versatile.

Sorry.</div>That it based on injuries and sporadic playing time. Korver get 3 rpg in 31 mpg, that leaves much to be desired, he also has a couple inches on Allen. Allen gets big rebounds, he plays the offensive glass very well for his size. Stats don't show everything. Sorry.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ballerman2112 @ May 4 2006, 10:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I would go with Korver. Even though I was a big fan of Tony when he was at OK ST. Korver is a way better scorer in my opinion(because of his shot obviously). He has the capability of scoring 25 points any night because he can be lights out. Tony is a better defender and Korver is better on offense. I think its close.</div>he may be able to score 25 one night, but then he'd score 6 the next. Tony Allen is just as good of a scorer as Korver bc of his ability to take it to the basket. He's relentless when driving. He throws his body into the defense, and surprisingly still finishes sometimes. If he got the touches, he would go to the line 10 times a night. He did that for part of the year.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BigMo763 @ May 4 2006, 10:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>The only thing that Tony Allen really has over Korver on the defensive side of the floor is his athleticism. Korver gives a hell of a lot of effort on defense, but he just isn't athletic enough to stay with most perimeter players in the league. He is also an excellent team defender and draws a lot of charges.</div>if he gives effort, and still isn't as good as TA, then it doesn't matter. Allen also gives effort on that end, and he can shut people down. TA is as good a one-on-one defender as you'll find in a young layer. His off the ball defense includes lots of steals and some blocks.

If Korver had athleticism, then he would be atleast an average defender in my mind. The reason Sixers fans put up with his lack of defensive ability is because he hustles, something that a guy like Webber doesn't do, and that is all we ask for.

i already think he is almost average right now. But what i was saying is, Tony Allen is far better than average. He has a big edge on the defensive side.

I didn't get much of a chance to watch him this past season, and I really don't remember much from his rookie season.

yeah, he was out for a long while. He never got back to 100% until a few weeks were left in the season.

I remember it was a fairly close game, in the fourth quarter, and John Salmons was trying to be cool holding the ball between his legs, but he didn't realize Iverson was standing in the corner near where he was, and Tony Allen came over, reached under Salmons' ass, stole the ball and scored on the other end. I remember I was extremely pissed off (as always) at Salmons...

Yea I remembered that Tony Allen steal off Salmons. I loved it! But seriously, I think this shouldn't even be a debate.
