This is some sh*t I hate it when young athletes start to produce and get injured. I hope all goes well for Tony allen and the celts. Rajan Rando Delonte west need to take this as an opportunity as well as telfair. Telfair is falling behind west and allen and if rondo does what I think he can do, Telfair will still be coming off the bench.I dont barely get to watch any celts games but this is what I've seen from replays n such.

I know we all feel bad for Tony Allen, how he had just recovered from a previous injury and he was improving and turning into a great player. Not to mention he could have been a valuable trade asset if Danny ever wanted to go after a superstar-type of veteran. But a lot of people, (not just this board but in the boston area) are forgetting that this is Tony Allen's fault. He's the one who went to dunk after the play, he knew the whistle was blown, I hate to use J-Rich's quote in that other thread but it was a "Bonehead" play. I'm not in any way saying he deserved to get injured but let's not overlook this was totally his fault.

You also didn't add Brian Scalabrine to the list, who also hurt his knee last night.

And Delonte wants to come back Friday. That would be a huge and stupid mistake for him and/or the organization to let him, but I bet it happens.

Acording to ESPNews, it says TA is out for the season. And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be done for 6 months because look in the NFL. You tear you ACL and MCL you are done. Damn we are just getting killed with all the sh*tty injuries.

This play was completley avoidable. He could have simply stopped when the play did, but instead he goes up and tries to dunk the ball? Why would he even do that in the first place? Its just unnessecary. Sure, he didnt expect something like that to happen. But its his own damn fault. On another note, the Celtics as an organization are incredibly unlucky. They have had so many injuries this year that its not even funny. If they end up with the worst record this year, ten bucks says they dont get the first pick....

It's different. Tony Allen's pro career is not "done." It will probably take him a year and a half, maybe even 2 years, to get back to where he was as player this season, but he's not done.

Gosh, everyone should lay off TA. Had he not hurt his knee no one would have mentioned that he finished the dunk. C'mon.

Exactly. If he converted on the dunk, people would be like "TA IS A FREAK!" But just because the unfortunate happened, people are saying "oh, he shouldn't have tried it.. he's an idiot."

I think most players would have done the same thing, even superstars(trying to get continuation).

I've been saying this from the beginning. 99.9% of the time he lands that, which is why he went for it.

Like you said, I would take 1-2 years to get back to how you were before.

Yeah, it will take 1-2 years before he's back to the status of play he was playing this season, but he will be back in the lineup next year. Only time will tell how effective he'll be to begin next year.

I dont know if you could call this Karma for being a hotdog

^^ it wasnt the dying seconds of a finished basketball game...it was the third quarter and it was like a 3 point game
