QUOTE (Amante18)

WOW just WOW !

They still havnt played anyone

thats not there fault, they play who they are scheduled to play... and they crush them.. good teams destroy bad teams and thats what they do.... and you cant say Romo isnt good.. he proves it every week !
The guy is on fire... he makes plays... COULD be a candidate for MVP... 4-0, 4 solid performances... top NFL offense in the League... 3rdoverall pass yards, on 26 less pass attempts than the leader, averages 9.9 yards a pass 2nd most in the NFL Most tds thrown , also has 2 rushing td's.. highest QB rating of all starting Qb's (4starts)...
The guy is a beast, he had over 300 yards b4 the 3rd quarter ended.... wait till terry glenn plays this year... and lets not even mention the bad snap that went over the head play....

Right now, how can you argue against him being for real? You can say that they're playing bad teams, but that hardly means anything. Any team can beat any team in todays day and age. Just look at the Cards vs Steelers for proof of that, or the Bears squabbling a 4th quarter lead against the Lions. To be honest, what Tony Romo is doing right now, you have to respect. He has to be a top 3 candidate for MVP right now. He's putting up gawdy numbers week in and week out and is the key cog in the Dallas offense, which, oh by the way, is the best offense in the league, despite not having their 2nd best receiver for the first four games. I fully expect Tony Romo and Dallas to continue their winning ways. They're clearly the best team in the NFC right now and they're not even fully healthy, which is what makes them even scarier.

ya and on sports radio today they said stat wise beleive or not the rams had the 7th best defense in the league and the only reason they are losing is because there offense hasnt scored a td in 35 drives so say whatever you want.. Romo gets er done... haha

Romo still hasn't really shown anything we didn't already know. He's faced a brutal Giants D (well they were at that point), an underachieving Dolphins D, an injury-ravaged Bears D, and a mediocre Rams D. He's putting up great stats against crappy competition, but really, there are a handful of quarterbacks in the league that could do the same thing. All this MVP talk is ridiculously premature. I'm not ruling it out, but he needs to continue to play this way against other championship contenders (I'm looking forward to that match against New England).

Brett Favre > Tony Homo in the MVP debate. The Packers have the worst running team in the league, defenses know what to expect out of the Favre and the Pack, yet he still gets it done.

Tony Homo, wow you're mature.
He'll come back down to earth, wait until they play a healthy, respectable defense.

QUOTE (Mamba)

Tony Homo, wow you're mature.
He'll come back down to earth, wait until they play a healthy, respectable defense.

I think the Bears screwed themselves a bit by getting stuck on the field due to Grossman. It's not just about what kind of defenses Romo has faced, but how fresh their legs are and such. I figure there are many QBs that will come back down to earth as well.
As for MVP races, I always give the edge to AFC QB candidates.

I'd say Brett Favre should deff be ahead of Romo for the MVP debate. Romo has a lot more to work with, and I'm sure Brett's record will also have its influence on voters

You're right, Huevon. For some reason, I was thinking baseball and the dual league MVP's.
I'd give it to Brady as of now, with Peyton in a very close second.

When he leads his team to a victory against the Pats, then I'll be sold on him. Like someone said he puts up big numbers against "not so good" teams. Just wait till he plays a good team. And please don't say the Bears are good.

Guaging him soley on if he beats the pats isnt right... the Pats are arguably the best team in football, Last yearthey were a top 3 team and then they add Moss and Thomas, twoof the best players at their postion. Even if they lose to them doesnt say the Cowboys or romo for that matter arent good....you have to be realistic.. its a team game, coaching comes into play, inuries etc... Romo is good but basing the performance strictly on a win against the pats, isnt a fair meter to his skill level...The cowboys are 4- 0 and my prediction was a 12 - 4 record this year... they wont go undefeated.... If he plays wells and the team is in the game and loses then thats a sign to me... If they win even better...

Last year down the streach, the guy folded like oragami.I want to wait to see if he does that again this year before I call him thenext TroyAikman.

As a cobwoys fan I have to say Romo and TO played Poor 2nite..especially Romo.. But with only 16 carreer starts... there is gonna be alot of growing pains... Even Aikman threw 5 int's in one game... So put at away the annointing oil... for now... The only positive is he showed some poise at the end... and brought us back... and the legend grows....Great job by the rookie kicker...
