What is your point?</div> My point? Christ, maybe Nash did deserve the MVP the last two years, but then what? Is he an all time great? Is he better than Shaq, KG, Kobe? The award is worthless because the BEST player doesn't win the award every year. The most "valuable" does, some ambiguous term that means different things in different years. Or, if X has more MVPs than Y, does that mean X is better career-wise? The MVP is worthless. For example, KG didn't make the All-NBA team this year. So? He should have. MVPs, All-Nba teams, etc., are full of subjective intangibles and false perceptions of players (e.g. "KG is a loser", as some have said, which I don't believe).

And no it is not the award for the best player, it's called the Most "Valuable" player. I would focus on a player's PER/Defense/etc. , rather than some popularity contest.
