please explain to me how a guy who is double teams (usually by the center position), averages 6 asists, 23 pts and 13 brds makes it HARDER to play with...

KG gets Rasho open looks and we all know KG is one of the best big men passers in the NBA... please explain to me how that comment is valid...

(or is this another attempt to be funny [IMG] )

I know I'm putting him a little high on my list, but I really think he'll be the most dominant in the East.

I agree with allnet and purehoops here. Having KG on your team is actually more of a benefit to you as the individual. He draws double teams all the time and because of that, someone is open. It would be harder from Rasho if he played with a PF that doesn't have the skills like KG and Duncan.

Look at these lists. This is exactly why it puzzles me when people say that the old centers like Wilt, Rus, and Useld wouldn't dominate in today's game. A lot of the guys being listed are virtually along the same lines height wise as the guys who played way back when. A lot of these guys are also just plain out stiffs who lack toughness and the defensive prowess to stop guys like Wilt. People like to say that Wilt and Russell's era was that of PF's playing C, well how exactly have things changed?

Yeah if Wilt played today, he would squash every one.

Good point. A lot of our centers lack the ability to play back to the basket and size that they'd need just to be slightly competitive with Wilt and Russell.

    Mine:
    1.Shaq
    2.Big Ben
    3.Olowakandi
    4.Big Z
    5.Brad Miller
    6.Zo (if healthy)
    7.Nesterovic
    8.Vlade
    9.Ming
    10.Curry

I didn't count Jermaine O'neal as a center. Ming and Curry have a while to go to be considered all-stars IMO..Same with Brad Miller. Vlade is old, but tricky..When healthy Zo is in the top 80-85 players ever. Big Ben is hardly a center, but can play some tight defense. Olowakandi's stats may go down in Minnesota, but he has skills. Sabonis is gone(he was nothing anyways) I have noticed over and over that the league has a lack of good centers. [IMG]

Not a bad list, but I wouldn't put Kandi at number three because hes only a 12 and 7 player, Brad Miller and Big Z both have better stats.

I am going to go by position they will be playing this year, and assuming they are healthy.(Meaning Wallace will be a PF this year, and assuming Mourning is fully recovered)(Note, this might not go by statistical numbers.......)

    1. O'Neal
    2. Mourning
    3. Miller
    4. Ilgauskas
    5. Nesterovic
    6. Olowakandi
    7. Ratliff
    8. Thomas(very underrated.....)
    9. Davis(A)
    10. Davis (D)
    11. Ming(showed great signs, but not quite all there).
    12. Curry
    13. Magloire(watch this season.......)
    14. Grant
    15. Dampier/Haywood

he led the league in Fg % though. I agree he should not be a top ten center yet, but he most certainly will be in the near future, I HAVE FAITH!!! GO BULLS!

I really don't think that Miller will get half as good of stats as he did last season now that he will be playing behind or alongside Vlade.

However, with stats not involved I think that Miller is a top five Center.

    I like your thinking. [IMG]

As far as pure centers go, it's hard to name 15. That's why I listed Curry so high, because he's it. He needs to work on rebounding, but that won't matter much if no one can stop him in the post next season.
