I will give my top 3 will not get into the last 2.1. Nash (As much as I did not think he should have won the first 2 MVP's and that last year was a huge joke this year I really think he deserves it actually.)2. Dirk (You can see how good Dallas is, and even though there are plenty other guys on this team Dirk is the key why they are the best in the league.)3. Kobe (I have no idea how that team has won as many games as they did when they had injurys also.)Before Yao/Melo would have been 4th, and 5th. But with Yao being injured, and Melo being suspended can't put them there. And it sucks cause they were deff top 5 before.About Lebron I thought what the heck is he doing before also. But now that I look more he is putting up 28/6/6 I think about so some might think he is sucky this year compared to last year, but he is still having MVP #'s when you think about it. I am so mad last year he did not get that MVP trophy with 30/7/7 a game pretty much. And Kobe also should have gotten it before Nash. I could even say the same for Dirk I am so mad about last year still. DAMN
I said this in the Raptors forum and it is somewhat true. Steve Nash is under contract by the MVP voters (or is it the other way around?) so, that should end all arguments. But for the sake of argument, why not Dirk? You know since he actually took his team to the finals and stuff. Or Kobe, he's the best player in the league! Being the best is the same as being the most valuable just as the best cars are the most expensive. Come on.

His team's record is not exactly stellar, and who is currently 18th in MVP standings, is defintely a top 5 MVP candidate.</div>Ha seriously Jermaine O'Neal is a good player but he won't even get in the top 10 that was a horrible place to put him.

There are now a few games over .500 thank's to Bosh. And I gave my top 3 already I was just saying Bosh should get some props that's all.
Nash, Kobe and Dirk are the only 3 candidates in my opinion. I would give it to Dirk because of how great that team is doing, and yes, he is very important to the team... I wouldn't mind Kobe getting it since the best player deserves at least 1 no matter what his team does, but I'd give it to Dirk. I think Nash is deserving of 2 MVP's in 3 years but I just don't think he should get 3 in a row. This is about the time of the year that I get tired of the hype, even though it is proving to be true how important he is...unfortunately...At least with the games he's missed it gives him a very nice rest so he can finish the season strong.

Nash2. Dirk3. KobeI also only had 3 guys.
Bosh McgradyKobeNashDirkand if Lebron can have a good second half of the season then im sure he's going to be way up there.

Bosh first, and T-Mac behind him? Umm NOOBosh I think is underrated and should be top 10, but you got this guy first? And T-Mac is also top 10 now with what he done with out Yao, but 2nd?WOW

Wow man. I don't know how you came up with that logic. Zach Randolph might have a chance with your thinking.

Look, the only 3 names that should be named in this thread have the initials, SN, DN, and KB. Absolutely nobody else is in real contention at this point.

Ow okay lol I thought you might have them in no order also sorry. And to the other post I agree right now it's Nash, Dirk, and Kobe. But there are others that can be in the convo there is plenty of time left.
Bosh and the Raps are having a great season by my standards but I wouldnt rank Bosh top 5 for MVP candidates, more like top 10...7.8...whateverAnyways im gauransheeeddding that Nash or Dirk win MVP.
In my opinion:1) Steve Nash - once again, the Suns are losing without him2) Dirk Nowitzki - best player on the best team in the league3) Kobe Bryant - really taken his game to another level, and would win MVP any other year with a season like he's having4) Tim Duncan - still the same consistent double-double every night who's team is winning like usual5) Chris Bosh - the Raptors have really turned around thanks in large part to Chris BoshMaybe I'd switch Bosh and Duncan, I'm not completely sure right now. Carmelo might be second on my list had he not been suspended.
Right now, my list would probably be....1. Dirk Nowitzki2. Steve Nash3. Kobe Bryant4. Tim Duncan5. Dwyane Wade (I think the Heat can win their division if the Wizards continue to struggle, and the Heat continue to serge)Hon mentions: Lebron and Gilbert Arenas.
How is TD getting in the top 5? He is not playing close to like an MVP this year with the spurs struggling. T-Mac is single handedly taking the rockets to almost the same record as the spurs.
Theres no need for a top 5 - the clear cut MVP, once again is Steve Nash.Ask his team, ask anyone in the NBA - its straight up Steve Nash.
