Scouts start to scout players in grade school. Mark Walker wasn't scouted though. His dad sent the tapes to Reebok and they signed him. I don't care if he doesn't pan out though because the kid can atleast afford to go to college now.</div>Very true. I get rankings via E-Mail from some friends I have working in the basketball department at Michigan State. The rankings range from age eight to age twenty. Anyone ever heard of ten year old Kendall Marshall? If not, you will in ten years. He is probably going to go to the University of Florida. He is a big time Elementary School Prospect.

Anyone who follows prospects honestly knew Cooke would never amount to anything and LeBron would be a star. Just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it isn't there.

I think LeBron was rated as the top prospect in the country in Cooke's senior year. People already knew LeBron was better. Basically everyone really, well everyone besides Cooke.

In Cooke's Junior year pretty much everyone had LeBron rated higher. They met in the Addidas ABCD Camp and LeBron drilled him. People say that is one of the reasons Cooke wasn't drafted, because LeBron made him look so awful.

Anyway, I think Marshall deserves the publicity that he is and will be getting. He is an eleven year old kid playing against eighteen year old AAU players and winning.

The people who rated Lenny higher were not "Experts". They were simply confused journalists who saw Cooke's age as an advantage. When LeBron James was barely better than Cooke, he was younger and not fully developed. He was only a High School Sophomore. Cooke could have also remained on top, but he switched around High Schools so often that he was not allowed to play his Senior season. Right now a big time High School prospect like Daniel Gibson might be ranked over Kendall Marshall, but that doesn't mean that he will be better in the long run.

You just thought that there was no such thing as an Elementary School prospect so I showed you Marshall. Anyway, stop comparing Cooke to Marshall, and Cooke to LeBron. Bottom line is that almost everybody had LeBron over Cooke, and when Cooke was eleven he wasn't playing against eighteen year olds. They are two completely different situations. Marshall will be on SLAM in the next year.

How will we know he will be good in the future?

Let's get something straight, he puts up All-Star numbers on a High School Varsity team. He will not leave that team for six or seven years. The competition will only get easier for him. Your points don't make any sense. That is why I don't get them.

Harry Caray would be doing laps in his grave once he saw these names, because he wouldn't be able to pronounce a single one. [IMG]

If he does stay at five feet tall, he will still make the NBA or College. He could play on the College level right now. Last year he played such NBA players as Travis Outlaw, and he did just fine.
