I saw like 6 teams who have shown interest. Showing interest = had discussions.

The reason why we can't in good faith do a deal with Miami is because the other offers are significantly better.

discussions don't mean offers made, and you said offers were made

    Now this is intriguing.

OG, a few MIA youngins, and 4 picks is better for me than anything MIA can give us themselves. Just would need to convince OG to stick around.

Well at the very least if there are multiple teams interested in Herro, his value should go up. Maybe Joe should be taking lessons on how to create demand. Although I guess we will see if it actually works lol.

You seriously think discussions happen without the mention of players of interest?

Do we seriously think Masai would give up OG for Herro? I'd think Masai would be interested in also getting Jovic or other pieces back.

I would not necessarily assume us getting OG for Herro would mean Toronto would also add a pick or 2. Hell, they might want Miami to throw in a pick in order to get the deal done.

Unfortunately this is probably Masai inquiring like “hey, if he’s being shipped off for cheap, we’ll take Herro.”

Probably a diff story when it comes to one of his insanely overvalued assets.

I think it has more to do with him wanting to get Herro in town to beat his ass.

As absurd as it may sound, there is a supposed feud between Masai Ujiri, and Herro that traces its origins back to an incident at Beavertails Toronto Waterfront.

It all started on an eventful summer day when Ujiri decided to take a well-deserved break from the basketball court and indulge in some Canadian delicacies. He visited the famous Beavertails food truck, eager to savor the iconic pastries by the serene Toronto waterfront. However, little did he know that this casual outing would soon turn into a clash of egos.

As the queue progressed, Ujiri found himself standing right behind the then-rookie Tyler Herro, who was also enjoying the delectable delights of Beavertails. Trying to initiate some small talk, Ujiri cheerfully asked the young player about his first impressions of the NBA and his experiences playing in Miami. Herro, unfortunately, was caught off guard and misinterpreted the friendly inquiry as a subtle taunt.

From that moment on, a comedic chain of misunderstandings and exaggerated egos led to escalating tensions between the two. Ujiri, known for his stoic demeanor, couldn't fathom why Herro was taking their casual conversation so personally. Meanwhile, Herro, being a passionate and ambitious player, couldn't shake off the feeling that Ujiri was mocking him. Supposedly Herro ended up dumping aioli on Ujiri's head and saying "eat mayo you piece of shit".

I haven't seen any report of Miami making an offer.

I've seen reports that Dame wants to go there. I've seen a TON of conversation about what Miami can offer. I've seen a lot of discussion about how Miami's offer would (or would not) be good or bad.

I've even seen speculation about whether Miami is offering some of its pieces initially, and/or whether they will offer less over time as the season approaches.

But where is a report that they made an offer? Where are the specifics of that offer?

I'm not saying it's not out there, but I haven't seen it.

I think discussions happen all the time

in this case, I'd say the discussions went something like this:

Rival GM: "so tell me Joe, generally speaking, what do you want for Dame?"

Joe names his general wish list like picks and young prospects...and expiring contracts

the rival GM says "OK, that's good to know, thanks!; if we're interested I'll get back to you"

I'd say most discussions never advance anywhere close to the point of any specific offer

Yeah, I'd probably take it a step further and say a rival GM would say, we'd be interested in offering something like this player and this player. It's somewhere between a soft offer and a formal offer.

Joe likely knows the types of packages available but is choosing to wait for Dame to extend his list as they work with his agent.

Send us at least one of those picks you're sending to TOR, and I'd consider it.

OG seems like one of those guys who has something. Think he can pop if given higher usage.

My first time playing with this.
I don't see the option to trade picks.
Miami need to send picks. Screenshot_20230715_153340_Chrome.jpg

Toronto ain't giving up Barnes for anything less than Dame. Picks won't do it.

It’s been reported over and over.
