It's vastly better than what Miami is offering and if you're worried about OG you reroute him to the teams willing to pay multiple firsts for him. 3-5 picks plus Precious is a great haul for Dame, with the best part being FUCK MIAMI!

Are there any picks coming to Portland or just Walker? I mean Dame for Walker and Dick? That doesn't seem very good to me.

Yeah, I just didn't want to go through that part of the exercise. But I think it's that Dame/Hield would be a big/obvious enough talent upgrade over OG/Trent that Toronto would add a couple picks.

I don't think there are monkey-wrenches in salary matching for an extend and trade of OG

but there may still be a monkey-wrench or two unless the new CBA changed. IIRC, under the old CBA, raises in an extend and trade were limited to 5%, instead of 8%. And under the old CBA, the raise from old contract to new was limited to 20% (which is exactly what Dame got). I think I read somewhere that the new CBA allows a 40% raise. But I'm pretty sure that's just for an extension and not an extend and trade. I'm not sure how the new CBA would handle OG's 20M player option in 2024-25. Maybe he can have an option to opt in and extend for 3 years. Or opt-out and extend for 4. I simply don't know about that even though the total length of his contract(s) would be the same

in any event, I'm thinking his first year of an extend & trade in 2024-25 would be limited to 120% of his current salary. That would put his first season at 22.37M, with 5% raises. If he opted in to 2024-25 and did a 3 year extension starting in 2025-26, his first year salary would be 23.9M, with only 5% step-raises

again, the CBA has tricked me many times so I might have things wrong. But considering that OG is probably thinking about at least 30M/year on his next deal I don't think there would be any way he'd agree to an extend & trade

Anfernee for Anunoby, who says no?

    Scoot
    Sharpe
    Anunoby
    Grant
    Ayton

    Is this a playoffs team?

Depends heavily on Scoot and Shae and how far along they are.

I love that but I don’t think it happens now. Too much risk trying to re-sign OG and Ant has a chance to significantly increase his value this season.

Today at the Raptors media day, Masai Ujiri called Pascal Siakam selfish and that’s why they haven’t extended him yet. Now OG is saying he’s going to be a free agent at the end of the season. Masai Ujiri is really gonna fuck around and let OG and Siakam walk for nothing. What a clown.

Trying to decipher what the Raps FO is doing is an exercise in frustration. Seems like they have a plan but telling us the plan would compromise the plan. I would assume no trades are possible with the Raptors for the foreseeable future.

Just in case you are wondering.....a trade of Brogdon for OG does work

Maybe that's why Dame REALLY didn't want to go to Toronto.

Nurse and VanVleet killed the vibe last year. It's not a coincidence they are gone and the other guys were retained.

Ujiri isn't going to scapegoat those two so instead we're hearing the front office being disappointed with the whole team.

I feel like that is coming from Toronto. When you compare what was offered, Milwaukee's deal was much better than Toronto/Miami's. I can't picture a scenario where Dame gets to choose between these offers.

Hell I’d throw in GS’s 1st rounder Ant or Brogdon for OG.
