What is there, about a week left on this before it expires? Maybe with the Kawaii trade teams will start talking other trades.
Says a lot of Neil Olshit that a trade needs to happen to wake him up before the tpe expires .smh. What a pussy GM
Hey, I have a Honda Accord for sale. It's valued at $1000 but you can have it for $2000. Wouldn't you consider that a good deal?
After almost one year talking of what a great "asset" the tpe is, the tpe still unused. The clock is ticking Neil...
He won’t use it... he just lied to buy him more time... he is a con man... constantly moving the goal post.
I know it’s not a good attitude but even if it’s not for any one significant, I want the TPE to be used just to make it look like they’are trying. Understand it’s not my money, just would make me “feel” better.
Buy him more time for what? That’s what makes this even more frustrating. He didnt even need to bullshit the fans. His job is safe!
In all seriousness, did anybody think he was going to use it? The payroll situation is just too big a mess.
I don’t think he will, but if he’s going to tout it as an asset that can make the team better, then I think it’s pretty crappy not to use it...
Not using TPE's is pretty common, and it likely wouldn't move the needle anyway, so it won't be too surprising if he lets it expire. The abnormal thing was talking it up as a primary avenue toward roster improvement. That's just creating expectation and masking financial issues.
a KLove trade with cleveland and subsequently, us agreeing to use the TPE for korver makes the most sense to me, not as an asset gathering mechanism, but the additional cap relief of korver's 2 years and $15 million to sweeten the deal for cleveland outside of just matching Love's salary. if it is to be used at all. NO has a history with korver he mentioned in an interview about maximizing talent and character.
It's more than likely it's just another RLEC, in all honesty. Hopefully not, but realistically, the dialogue on why they didn't use it has already started.
A better way to save money would be something like this: CLE Gets: 2019, 2021 POR 1sts, Al-Farouq Aminu, Caleb Swanigan ATL Gets: Meyers Leonard POR Gets: Kevin Love, Miles Plumlee (TPE) That deal saves Cleveland $15M, because we send put $10.5M in bad salary to ATL and take back $12.5M in bad salary with our TPE.
This may be dumb but I think NO’s best trait is the draft and I don’t want him to give up picks very often.
Drafting the right guys? I mean I haven’t been as high on Collins as others but if he became a good PF/C they would be better. If in next years draft they find the “one” it could change things for them too.
