This trade probably put the nail in the coffin of the Blazers making the play-in. Yes, the Jazz are going to plummet but the Lakers should pass us up and I wouldn't be surprised if this cements the Wolves in the top 10. Gobert has to be ecstatic.
If we get skunked this deadline it might be safe to say after the past 2 deadlines that Joe could possibly be a little in over his head.
Big market means more money for the National Business Assoc. Hard to watch but it wouldn't be the first lopsided trade for a struggling team from a big market.
best thing about this trade: we no longer have to read those fucking stat muse memes about how great Westbrook is.
So Ainge traded Beasley, Vanderbilt, Conley, and 3 2nd rounders for a 2027 top 4 protected first? What a genius!
Fucking hate the Lakers. How in the fuck do they always come out of these trades smelling like a rose.
Does this make the Lakers clearly better than the blazers this season? Probably. That said, I actually don't like this trade for the Lakers. None of those players really raises their championship ceiling, and they used one of their two biggest chips to accomplish it. Maybe I'm lower on Russell then most, but to me he is no better than Westbrook. I think I'd still take 5 or 6 teams in the west over the Lakers, and now they have even one less prime asset.
