Saw that on MLB Network. I like TA but the man was made odd man out when Bird came back. Just hope Lynn isn't another Jaime Garcia. Also per MLB network that the Yankees are looking at Granderson. Just what they need another strike out artist. Fuck him he wasn't that good anyway then talked shit about the Yankees when he left for New York National. .Get a fucking clue Cashman.
...Lance Lynn was a solid pitcher till he got to Minnesota...maybe Cashman and the Yanx' scouts spotted something...plus he'll be on a slower infield and have a better defense in NY.
On MLB Tonight stats were shown of Lance Lynns improving record. Pleasac claimed that a late signing and Lack of DT hampered his game. Magrane commented that he thought the move was a good one for the Yankees. Later on in the Braodcast they went on to insinuate the Boston had things pretty much wrapped up and the Betts & Martinez were better than Judge or Stanton.
Are you f’in kidding me? Austin has more upside than Lance Lynn. That’s two OFs Cashman has given Minnesota. The first was Jake Cave for minor league pitcher, Luis Gil. You want irony.....Cave was given unconditional release when Yankees obtained the much maligned Neil Walker! Lance Lynn, 31 yr old whose best years were with the St. Louis Cardinals, is a Cashman specialty.....not the pitcher to dominate. Cashman’s machinations are due to his poor planning in building a good starting staff. To say the least, his moves have not panned out. Now he’s just grabbing anyone who throws a baseball. Yankees need a new GM.
when Austin puts it all together, he should become a Monster imo....hope this one doesn't come back to haunt in time...Lynn's gotta' perform instantly; & hit the ground running...!
...the Yanx were loaded at the OF position in the minors and there was nowhere for them to play at the big league level...Stanton, Judge, and Hicks pretty much have the OF covered for the foreseeable future. ...besides, the Yanx still have Frazier and Florial.
Losing austin no big deal imo. He's a below average defender who bats .230 and occasionally runs into a home run. Another open spot on the roster as cashman continues to open spots on roster for their better prospects on the 40 man roster to protect them from rule 5 draft. Lynn has pitched better of late in his last 12 starts pitching to a 3.7 era. What this tells me is yanks going with 6 man rotation for awhile to get some rest for starters like seve, cc and tanaka or worse seve or CC might be hurt and need some dl time. I expect kahnle back shortly. We'll see today if cashman trims some more of the fringe roster players to make some more room on the 40 man roster. The intl money is very important to yanks as they've already signed the 9th best intl prospect and in on a few others. Important because they always have a good enough team to rarely if ever get a shot at a high draft pack in the amateur draft so this is where they have a chance to sign some studs.
