The Bulls have been active with the trade deadline approaching, and they've inquired about the availability of Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor, multiple league sources tell CSNChicago.com. http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-b...hlil-okafor-sources-nba-trade-deadline-rumors
Ralph at Realgm says we are looking at Norlens as well. He added Niko, taj, Doug, and valentine are all names being discussed. He speculated that if we got one of the 2 centers, Rolo could be moved as well. I am fine with either one. I am ok with Mcdermott being in the package as long as Valentine was still here. He said Bulls do not want to add picks in the package. Frankly I don't see Philly wanting more picks.
The 6ers have overstocked themselves on high draft pick centers. Frankly, they have no use for Okafor. While I don't blame them for trying to get top-dollar for their discards, I don't want the Bulls to give up much for Okafor. Right now, he's a one-trick pony...post-up offense and this skill ain't worth what it once was due to the way NBA offenses have changed. He doesn't have a verstaile offensive game nor does he defend. Though Okafor was selected with the 3rd overall pick, his value now isn't much more than a mid-first rounder.
As for Okafor, teams are worried about his surgically-repaired right knee still giving him problems and it's no secret that he's a defensive liability, but one thing going for him is that he has two more years left on his rookie deal. http://www.rotoworld.com/playernews/nba/basketball-player-news/?rw=1
