Yes. But I don't think these two will be traded before the trade deadline. However, how about Francis for TJ Ford? I know it wouldn't be equal straight up but Ford is exactly what we need. A good passer who knows who to pass to and he'll be a Texan favorite.
Francis for TJ Ford? I'm a fan of Ford but that is a little bit of a stretch. Ford should become a great player but Francis is on the verge of become excellent. Francis isn't working out for the Rockets under JVG and needs to be traded but not before the trade deadline. Maybe next year he can be traded for Ford, who will have more experience and other details could be worked out. It is just too difficult of a trade to work out.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ANiMuS:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm sure JVG and Rockets management has been exploring possible trades for Francis/Mobley for a while now.</div> I'm not sure what you mean by "a while" and I'm not sure how hard they've been working on trades for Francis/Mobley. The only real first turmoil that could trigger a trade has been when Francis allegedly went to the Super Bowl instead of being with his team (not a while ago if u remember when Super bowl is). Before that, the Rockets truly believed they could work things out and were just trying to mold Francis into JVG's game w/o any trades in mind. To not be able to work out any kind of trade for an all star such as Francis is just ridiculous. He is one of the best guards in the league and if someone can pull off a trade that sends Eisley, Antonio "I havent played for 2.5 centuries and counting" McDyess, C.Ward and M.Lampe for Penny Hardaway and Stephon Starbury (IMO the 2nd or 3rd best PG in the NBA behind Kidd and maybe Cassell), then I think maybe, just maybe, we can land a decent trade for Francis/Mobley.
I don't see this situation working out in Houston with Francis and Van Gundy, I think he has to be moved. Steve is a SG, that's an unquestioned fact to everyone in basketball, but if he's not able to play his game under Van Gundy there's no reason to keep him around because he's not helping the team. I don't think going after Iverson is that much of a stretch, but if not him, why not his PG Eric Snow? The Rockets could possibly work out a three-team trade sending Mobley to the third team, they would then have the ability to move Franchise to the two spot where he belongs. If this works out maybe Steve stays and thrives at the SG, if not, Houston could shop him in the offseason. I don't think the TJ Ford proposed deal is necessarily that bad of an idea, although if Houston, I would have to ask for another player in return...maybe Keith Van Horn??? Ford is a beloved character in Texas and will become a very good NBA pg, he's another guy cut from the Mark Jackson pass-first mold.

He is truly "untradeable".
This is only the beginning of "The Dynasty's" journey to greatness. If last night's game doesn't show the Rockets that Yao has to be the man, then nothing will.
