Olshey's job isn't to find friends for Dame...it's to find teammates that can bring the owner, Blazer fans, the city, and Dame a championship

Wiggins won't be around if the Warriors trade for Giannis, IMO, and neither would Green. And the contrast between the Warriors' financial situation and Portland's is pretty dramatic

which brings up an interesting question....could Portland get involved in a Warriors' trade for Giannis and snag Green?

Neil has never been the guy to snag a Green caliber Player. He snags players like Harkless but not Green. We aint getting any star here as long as he's the GM

My gosh you just blew my mind.....

Wiggins and the #2 pick and Minny pick next year (likely very good lottery pick), and maybe 4 future 1st round picks or such might get this trade done.

Steph Klay Draymond Giannis would be insane....

The salary still exists, even in Covid time. They can't have all four on the team.

    Saying this for years
Yeah, but let's not forget a couple of things before we just crown them. Steph's body has been increasingly breaking down in the last couple of years. That's always been something that people thought could happen because of his build. All the wear and tear from all those playoff games might have speeded up the process. He is THE guy in this organization, even if Durant was better, even though Giannis would be better, Steph always is going to be one or two and the face of the team.

Klay's coming off a major injury. He should be able to come back at the same level, but it's not an absolute.

Giannis has looked mortal against the Heat and also susceptible to nagging injuries, being unable to adjust his game to play through them effectively. Also, how would he adjust to not being THE guy? I think he'd be fine, but he's not Durant. Heck, I don't even know if he wants to be a player that joins a favorite to make them unbeatable. The talk about him liking Toronto and Miami seems he's more like a guy who wants to join a good team and a good organization to give them a chance to win it all, not a guy who wants to join an already great team to make anything less than a dominant title run disappointing.

Draymond's shown that when injuries hit this team and his role becomes more prominent he can be as much a liability as an asset. Too loose a cannon to be someone who sets the psychological tone on a team. Too volatile. Needs to be the yang to someone's yin or else everything becomes crazy.

Finding a way to get depth on a team with four guys commanding this kind of money would be a challenge. A key injury or two and the Warriors could become this year's Warriors. They'd be the favorite, but it wouldn't be the foregone conclusion anymore that this team was going to win it all going away because age and wear have become bigger factors.

They already do basically. Yeah, after next season Giannis will get a big raise but they'll have bird rights. Right now the Warriors would actually be saving 2 million. The bird rule allows teams to subvert the cap and I don't think the Warriors care about the tax if they're going to win 5 more championships. I just don't know how valuable Wiggins is and how into two high draft picks and then guaranteed the last pick in the draft 4 more times the Bucks will be. That's the thing when people say that packages we have aren't good enough. What are the Bucks looking for right now. I would bet it would be both viability as a playoff team now and assets in the future. When it comes to us lets say, do they value CJ, do they think he would be a lot better without Dame and with a defensive specialist like Bledsoe next to him? How high do they view Nurk's ceiling? How high do they view Zach's ceiling? Do they think Gary is going to be a future star? How do they value Nas? Hell maybe they even think Ant is untapped potential. Do they think that it's likely that Giannis bolts after one season making all of our future picks much more valuable? The fact is Gary, Zach and Nas all have pretty high ceilings and future potential like any draft pick, even a high pick would. Nurk has a ton of potential but has already shown his floor is pretty damn high too unlike a draft pick and then you add in all of the draft picks. Maybe as someone said, they won't want CJ just a package around Nurk and potential or they will want CJ, Nurk and potential. There are other lists like that for other teams too. I do think we could offer a pretty great package and bet on Dame and Giannis with a middling supporting cast... it's working for the Lakers.

So we wouldn't want a player like Giannis because of paying tax? Btw i m pretty sure we will be paying tax even without Giannis the way our GM is handing those contracts.

You know we already have the biggest payroll and we struggled to get into playoffs.

See, I was under the impression that he wasn't a fan of big cities, since...y'know...he said so.

Paid by one of the richest persons on this planet and by a team that paid taxes for the likes of Meyers Leonard etc. I suppose getting Giannis is worth it.

But if it's such a big deal we can find a trade for CJ. That shouldn't stop us from getting Giannis if there is a chance

Yes they can. Giannis makes 2 million less than Wiggins.

If you look at Olsheys history of trades starting with the Clippers I dont think he would have a problem trading for a super star if there was an opportunity.
In fact I think he would trade Dame for another super star if the right player was available, no I'm not advocating that at all but any GM would be open to a trade involving super stars, but it takes planets lining up for it to happen.

    A GIANNIS TRADE PACKAGE:

This deal would be done after the draft:
MIL Gets: C.J. McCollum, Gary Trent Jr, Zach Collins, Anfernee Simons, Nassir Little, #16, 2021 POR 1st (Unprotected), 2023 POR 1st (Top 5 Protected), Right To Swap 2025 POR 1st, 2026 POR 1st (Top 5 Protected)
POR Gets: Giannis Antetokounmpo, George Hill,

Am I crazy to think this would have a chance of happening if Milwaukee was looking to trade Giannis?

They could get more and probably another super star...would you involve Dame at all?

Maybe they could but that's not what recent history dictates especially for someone who is possibly only a one year rental. That's a lot of picks. CJ is one of the best scorers in the game... the guy gets buckets, Gary looks like a knock down 3 and lock down D guy, Zach is special (I know his bubble performance was a disappointment but there aren't a lot of bigs that can move like he can, have his motor/grit and have good form on their jumper), Nas has a ton of upside and Ant is the most talented player Neil Olshey has ever seen play any sport. That's a proven commodity in CJ and a whole lot of future potential both in the young players and picks. If they are going to put Giannis on the market for a package deal, this is a legit deal.

If they're going to try and get two all-stars for the best player in the league then we won't be in the running but who will. They won't get equal value for another superstar because no one is as good as he is right now and he's still pretty young, so I just don't see that happening unless it was another superstar and a few first rounders. Just look at the other superstars in the league they're almost all too old AD for Giannis doesn't make sense because then you just have the same team but a little worse.

Again, I really don't think they'll move on from Giannis but if we're willing to give up all of that talent and four first rounders and one swap (maybe sprinkle in some second rounders) and they are looking for a trade, it wouldn't be a bad trade for them. If they are rolling the dice that Giannis will stay and just want to shake up the roster though, they may still be interested in CJ and a CJ, Trevor and future first for Middleton and Hill trade might make a lot of sense for both teams.
