100%. I'd LOVE to have three guys off the bench who shot over 41% from 3 last year (Trent, Hood, Bjelica). He's been my favorite trade target all off-season. If we could trade for him using our TPE, then we'd only have one more rotation spot left to fill, and it could be a 4 or a 5.

    Lillard / McCollum
    McCollum / Trent
    Covington / Hood
    Collins or MLE / Bjelica
    Nurkic / Collins or MLE

What'd be most likely, in my opinion:
    Lillard / McCollum
    McCollum / Trent
    Covington / Hood
    Millsap / Bjelica
    Nurkic / Collins

That lineup would be the best starting unit Dame has every had, would have the best complimentary pieces at the forward spots he's ever had, and he'd have the best bench he'd ever had.

I would love to have Kanter back as the back up to Nurk.

I do not see a downside to that. We get a 1st, and 2 centers for Mario? Zach would play strictly PF along with RC. (And Little and Gabriel)
And still would the full MLE..... Yes, please

What's the cap/tax bill look like for the Blazers in that scenario?

Boston is a good fit for Whiteside.

    Hayward anyone?

    Saying this for years
OT, but growing up here in the east, I'd always listen to WFAN, I think the first all-sports radio station.

One of the great things would be the late-night calls from New York fans pitching trade suggestions. It almost always was one of the New York teams getting one of the best players in the entire game for a scrub.

"Hey, you think the Dolphins would do Marino for Adrian Murrell? They need a running back, and Murrell's having a pretty good year."

After a while you were expecting them to ask for Marino and a first-round pick for Murrell.

So, what I'm really getting at is do you think the Celtics would do Jayson Tatum for Mario Herzonja?

Portland’s involvement pretty much just depends on Boston’s interest in Whiteside. Hayward would be a great fit here though. Can handle the ball, score, space, and is a decent defender.

I think getting Hayward for Hassan and change would be awesome.

Same here. That said, what do you think the deal would have to look like, realistically?

I'm so far out of the loop on much of the CBA stuff these days, that I don't know what might be a semi-realistic scenario.

His contract is such, that Portland doesn't have the ability to get him without trading CJ..... not that there's anything wrong with that. :bgrin:

Portland would have to send out ~$27M in salary.

The best salary 'balast' Portland has is Zach at $5M. For any realistic scenario, Hassan would have to get a contract in the $20M to $22M range.

Why would Boston even entertain that idea when there will be a glut of C on the market in FA?

Portland is not an option in any Hayward trade unless CJ is included.

Why would Hayward opt out of a $34M contract to sign one that starts at $25M? He wants to loose $9M just to be a nice guy?

Just guessing, but it might be about the amount of overall guaranteed money over the life of his new potential contract, versus that $34M?

Not saying that's what he will/should do, just that it *might* be the logic being employed.
