Look at the number of games .., these are accumulative stats, they are great for overall impact but without number of games played, do not really indicate progress.

PER, ws/48, TS pct are better for progress

those numbers are for entire seasons. His ws/48 has shown no improvement since his rookie year btw. You can’t possible be serious with true shooting percentage either when arguing about Ben Simmons. Of course his percentages have improved as he’s gotten more and more afraid of actually you know..shooting.

Note to NeO -- Stay out of talking to Philly unless it's to help Philly and the Blazers getting Matisse Thybulle in return but if they want to ship Simmons to Portland just hang up and do it FAST .... this would be my advice to NeO

Exactly, VORP is not indicative of progress or regression if he played 81 games in his first season and 57 in his 3rd, which is why I said they are not a good stat for progress/regression.

His first year it was 0.162, his third 0.165 - in the playoffs he has gone from .103 in his first year to .161 in his 3rd year (and even .173 in his last, much maligned season).

This is in direct contradiction to the quote I was referring to:

PER went from 20.0 first year to 20.4 3rd year and playoffs went from 16 to 18 in his 3rd year.

His per 36 FGAs have gone down, but so has his USG% - so, I am going to call this "shooting less" a myth as well - about the same shooting his first 3 years with small improvements. As I mentioned, I am going to take his first year under Doc with a different role and battling injuries with a grain of salt - but the numbers clearly do not show a player that regressed. It shows a player that has made very small improvements as I said in my original answer until the dip last year.

Could he have progressed more? Probably. Is he "lazy" - maybe - but there is no data to indicate that, has he regressed, not at all. He made small improvements.

So first of all, I asked what would happen if they did it. I didn’t ask why or how or when or who.

But I’m just curious if an agent, any agent really, became too powerful and started causing problems, what would happen if they tried to black ball him?

I just read another "unsubstantiated" claim that that was according to "Sauces" (So take it with a grain of salt please) that Portland and Sacramento are the front runners to land Simmons.
Oh boy would it be funny if Simmons ended up in a Kings uniform.
On the other side. If it's a three team deal? Who on the Kings roster would look good in Portland? Barnes, Bagley, Harkless, Thompson, Len, Holmes, Hield? They are not giving up Fox I presume?

I would gladly take Harkless as a part of a deal.

How about CJ and Bagley to PHI, Barnes/Maxey to PDX, and Simmons to SAC

Kings could put Simmons at the 4 and be the fastest/most open court team in the league. Philly gets CJ and a young player with promise. We balance shit out, get bigger, and add a player than can get to the cup.

    Lillard/Simons
    Powell/Maxey
    Covington/Nas
    Barnes/Nance
    Nurkic/Zeller

The Kings would need to add sweetener to PHI, and maybe we could get some too. I do think that's a better team than what we roll out now.

In a perfect world we could get Davion Mitchell and Harrison Barnes for CJ and a pick (or two), but that aint happening.

Kings Unlikely To Include De'Aaron Fox Or Tyrese Haliburton In Offer For Ben Simmons
    SEP 1, 2021 10:31 AM

The Sacramento Kings are unlikely to include either De'Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton in an offer to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons.

The 76ers would almost certainly require one of those two players to be included in a package for Simmons.

Sacramento would prefer to build a trade package around Buddy Hield, Marvin Begley III and other assets such as first round picks.

Fox is entering the first season of a five-year, $163 million extension with the Kings.

I doubt that Simmons value has shifted much at all.

we were just hearing mainly about Morey's pipe dreams. Now, we're starting to hear about what other teams are offering...and not offering

Love how Simmons has cratered his own value. At this point it’d be a miracle if Morey got anyone as good as CJ in return. Philly needs him to rebuild his value by starting the season with them, but it looks like he’s not gonna let that happen. They’re fucked.

Why would Philly want Bagley? They have Harris. Harris is a better player.

This is the truth. He could/should have been open about his shooting woes and said he's working on it like crazy. Gym 24/7. Show some fight. He hasn't shown any fight whatsoever.
