I wonder how gettable Jeremy Lamb is. He's going into the last year of his contract and is exactly who we need in a 3rd guard (can attack the rim, handle the ball, shoot the 3, and play solid defense). Given that the Hornets might rebuild and/or look to shed salary, as well as Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon being young guys who could deserve more minutes next year (plus whoever they draft), I think we should go after him.

POR Gets: Jeremy Lamb (TPE), Nicolas Batum
CHA Gets: Evan Turner, Jake Layman

CHA saves $11M in year one and apx. $45M total.

    Lillard / Baldwin
    McCollum / Lamb
    Harkless / Batum
    Aminu / Collins
    Nurkic / Davis

    OR

ATL Gets: Meyers Leonard, Al-Farouq Aminu, #24
POR Gets: Marvin Williams, Jeremy Lamb, Miles Plumlee (TPE), #30
    CHA Gets: Future 2nd(s)

Charlotte saves $21.5M next year, $36.5M total.

    Sign Wayne Ellington MLE.

    Lillard (35) / McCollum (13)
    McCollum (22) / Ellington (20) / Lamb (6)
    Harkless (28) / Lamb (20) /
    Williams (22) / Collins (26)
    Nurkic (30) / Davis (18)

I wasn't trying to say Swanigan has negative value. I actually still think he's capable of being a nice player. If any team wanted Leonard he'd be on that team by now. It's gonna take more than a rookie who barely played and 2nd round picks to get rid of him unless you're taking on another bad contract close to his.

Leonards contract might be a bit easier to move now as a team can look at it as a 2 year deal with it being an expiring contract the 2nd year if Leonard doesn't work out. He does have an intriguing skill set and GM's are often looking to take a risk. I guess we will find out this summer or near the trade deadline and even if we had to take back a similar contract then maybe Leonard can be flipped for a similar contract but a player that can be of more use.

I'd rather just eat Turner's contract than take on an extra year of Batum's contract. I'd be surprised if the Blazers took on any contracts that go past 2020.

The other trade is difficult to pull off. Atlanta wouldn't have cap space until after the draft. No team is going to use up cap space to move up 6 spots in the draft when they already have two higher picks. Charlotte would do that trade in a second though. I used to be really high on Lamb but he just never developed. I'd rather have Aminu at this point.

It's a new NBA. Teams aren't as willing to take on salary like that. Most teams don't have cap space either. I do think he'll be tradeable next summer but even with just 2 years left it's still over $20 million for a bench player at best.

Maybe we can trade for DeRozan. Raptors have always kind of been in the same boat.

I would look to Philly and see if a future pick and Leonard would bring back Bayless. Bayless would be a useful player and one less year on his contract. The benefit to Philly is they are only taking on one more year than Bayless and have another big on the roster as they have a fragile center right now. Something like that might be able to be pulled of either in the summer or before the trade deadline. Leonard is listed as 127th in the league and could likely drop even lower with new free agent signings this off season.

    Why a trade won’t happen

    Dame is untouchable. Obviously

Olshey loves CJ and laughs anytime a trade is even mentioned. He groups him in with Dame. Do I agree with it? Nope, but his opinion is the only one that matters.

Nurk is our defensive anchor, and he’s about to get paid.

Collins is pretty much untouchable as well.

Aminu and Harkless have value, but what would we get in return that upgrades our roster? Theyre more valuable to us than to anybody else.

The rest of the roster aren’t worth mentioning as trade pieces.

The only trade that has a chance is the Crabbe TPE.

If this happens, I would not fault Dame at all if he hold another meeting with Paul Allen and requested a trade. I really hope Dame is holding the Screws to PA and PA is tighting the screws to Olshey.

Huh? Philly is one of the least likely destinations for Leonard. They are trying to get enough cap space for free agents. I could possibly see a trade in which we acquire Bayless using the Trade Exception but there is a below zero chance they take on Leonard.

Why would we use the tpe for Bayless?.That would make even less sense. My proposal was also possibly at the trade deadline

Would the Knicks make Kristaps Porziņģis and maybe Courtney Lee available in a Zach Collins Mo Harkless kind of deal?

He developed a ton this year. He improved in every area.

We could take back smaller contracts from them using the Vonleh TPE to make it work. They'd only need to send out an additional $1.5M

Wes is in his last year and unless we give up a pick or take back an equally bad contract Dallas won't take Meyers

LOL, there is no chance of this happening? By the way I read another thread that @BigGameDamian is a bot, is that true?

He had a career year shooting the 3 but was that an outlier or not? Who knows but he's a career 33.6% shooter from downtown. I know players usually improve their 3pt% under Stotts but I would rather not have another wing that other teams leave open. You often post per36 stats on here and if you look at Lamb's he didn't actually improve outside of about 1 assist per game and the 3pt%. His improved numbers this year are strictly due to averaging 5-6 minutes per game more than he had previously. He also got off to a hot start this year and cooled off. I wouldn't mind having him but he's nothing special or worth pursuing in a trade.
