With Davis gone, I wouldn't mind keeping Faried. He's a decent fit with Collins and is the same kind of player. But Faried doesn't fit under the TPE.

I'd take Plumlee for the TPE and a 1st back instead, maybe send out a 2nd or two to make it happen.

2019 DEN 1st, 2019 POR 1st, 2022 Right to Swap (Protected - only if Butler resigns), Swanigan, Harkless, Leonard for Butler.

Then C.J., Collins, a 2021 1st, and 2023 1st (Protected - only if Kawhi resigns) for Kawhi and Danny Green

    Lillard / Curry
    Butler / Curry
    Leonard / Turner
    Aminu / ?
    Nurkic / Plumlee

I dunno. We have to go after Butler though.

Portland makes a trade before training camp.

Turner and Aminu for Batum and Kaminsky.

We bring back Batum who we were never able to replace. His ball handling, playmaking, and outside shooting will free up Lillard and CJ. I’m not worried about a decline, especially with his shooting. He shot near 37% from outside post all star break and wouldn’t have to take the kind of shots Charlotte made him take. Kaminsky fits as a stretch four who can play next to Collins. Charlotte gets out of Batums contract without sacrificing too much on the court. They have some younger players that need playing time while Aminu and Turner would still help defensively.

I’m actually curious as to what your thoughts are here.
I’m in no hurry to bring Batun back. But he probably is a better ‘fit’ than ET. The problem becomes all your bigs are young, well except ML. I guess they’d start Collins, next to Nurk?

I’ve heard worse idea, but it doesn’t do much for me...

Put in Leonard for aminu, and throw in a pick, then we can talk. Nic's contract is horrible, and his play doesn't add much. I'd rather ride out a year with ET and then see if theres any value as an expiring. And then transition our youth to his spot

Thibs gets his boys Turner and Noah while dumping Wiggins’ contract and Dieng who he doesn’t like. Pretty sure Butler doesn’t like Wiggins as well. Aminu is another player that fits the Thibs mold, and replaces Gibson. They also get a pick from Portland, lottery protected.

Knicks dump Noah for an expiring they can trade mid season, and also take a look at Leonard. To me that’s a better option than taking cap hits on Noah for the next three years or whatever after stretch provisioning him.

Both Minnesota and New York save financially long term.

Wiggins starts at SF. Harkless or Collins at PF. Portland would also have an open roster spot they could play with. Give it to Oliver, or a euro, or McCullough. I’d love to see Wiggins in Portland’s environment and locker room. Stotts would be much better for his game and personality than Thibs as well.

Don’t think that’s an option right now. He’s got two years left on his deal.

I would put Otto Porter near the top of my list. He would be a great third scorer next time Dame and CJ, has a sweet shot and fadeaway. He isn’t the best defender but isn’t completely hopeless either.

Washington will probably give it 30-40 games with Howard to see where it can go but if they don’t look like contenders they could be willing to offload Porter’s massive deal if they can. Oubre is also a good prospect at 3 and he will be cheaper to resign than $24million a year. Turner will have just one and a half year left on his contract and they could waive and stretch him at the end of season and only get around $5.8million cap hit. We could give them Aminu to match salaries and instead of having entire Porter’s deal they would have just $5.8m from stretched ET. Of course we would need to sweeten that deal somehow but we could give them picks or one of young players.

Wondering what Zach Collins value is across the league. If you attached him to a big contract and maybe another pick would it be enough to get a proper starter like Tobias Harris?

Trading Collins for Tobias Harris should be a fireable offense, even if it meant dumping Turner or Leonard.

Tobias doesn’t make Portland that much better, and you give up a potential all star caliber player in the process. The best chance we have to take that next step is Zach Collins.

As much as I like THarris I don't think I would include Collins. You would need more than attaching a big contract along with the deal.

Yeah, I like the Otto Porter idea though. Washington will have to make a decision on Porter/Oubre at some point in the next year. Can’t see them paying Oubre with Porter still on the roster.
