I absolutely LOVE that the analysis has us being 5 games worse with this trade!

speaking of Miami, justice winslow has been playing well lately. I would love Winslow as the SF, let them have CJ. Take Winslow and Tyler Johnson who has two enormous years left but so what. They can have Mo and we get Olynyk, who helps spread the floor.

sorry, don't like that at all

CJ needs to be traded, IMO. But he needs to be traded for a better player (unlikely). If not, then he needs to be traded for a combination of cap relief, better fitting player(s), preferably younger prospect(s), and/or draft pick(s)...not necessarily all those things at once. James Johnson on a 3 year/15M a year deal is the wrong way to go

    I don’t think we’re a match, just financially speaking.

IND Gets: C.J. McCollum, Caleb Swanigan
POR Gets: Tyreke Evans, Domantas Sabonis, Cory Joseph, 1 or 2 IND Future 1sts.

We get a young, cheap very good big with Portland ties in Sabonis get a C.J. replacement in Tyreke who might be a better fit, and a good backup PG. Indiana gets a "star" who would start alongside Oladipo, and would simply increase the roles of Young, O'Quinn, and Leaf in the frontcourt.

    Then, I'd try this:

POR Gets: Trevor Ariza, MIL Future 2nds
PHX Gets: Meyers Leonard, Jason Smith, WORST of 2019 POR/IND 1sts
    MIL Gets: Al-Farouq Aminu

    Then

ORL Gets: Evan Turner, Future 2nd
    POR Gets: Timofey Mozgov
*This would work with any worthless player making under $17M.

With the series of moves, we save approximately $8M-$9M this year to get under the luxury tax, and $37M next year. If we shed Harkless (easy, IMO) and Mozgov (Or whatever bad contract we get back), wed have apx. $45M in cap space to add to Lillard/Nurkic/Sabonis/Collins. Our lineup for the rest of the year might be better too:

    Lillard (36) / Joseph (12) / Curry
    Evans (30) / Joseph (18) / Curry
    Ariza (28) / Harkless (20) / Stauskas
    Sabonis (30) / Collins (10) / Harkless (8)
    Nurkic (30) / Collins (18) / Mozgov

    Parker fits our system though.

    Like peanutbutter and jelly.

    Like lamb and tuna fish.

I could see Brooklyn as a fit for Parker. They have a few big expiring contracts. Something like Carroll and a second for Parker.

But why? No point for them, they won’t extend Parker at $20m a year. Jabari was so lucky to get that $20m offer which wasn’t in any way deserved, he’s set himself up for life.

You ask why, I answer why not? They don’t have anyone at PF. Parker isn’t that bad and is only 23. career PER of 16. That’s above average for a starter. He’s sucked this year but I don’t see much of a downside in giving him a look. $20M is crazy but if he plays well and enjoys the environment they can bring him back for less.

A little bet: Jabari Parker's career will be a worse version of Michael Beasley's.

This is my thinking as well. I think he’ll eventually get bought out.

Please stop with the Parker talk. Don't you wonder why two teams have given up on him already, one of them a terrible team that just gave him a big contract? He's like a poor version of THE CURRENT Carmelo Anthony. He has no position, he doesn't fit in any team concept, he's inefficient and he couldn't defend against a Meyers Leonard dribble drive.
